I leased and ran regional, even when I was not training I was making good money, but then again I was on Kraft dedicated and had about 30-35% DH. My average check by myself was about $1200/wk after expenses (before tax).

Kraft west isn't regional like Midwest regional. Out west the avg load with dh is over 1000 miles, Midwest is much shorter than that. Also Rodger is such an awesome dm he can "Midas" up any fleet.PSUMoose Thanks this.

Only ignorant management would give you trouble when you're being sucessful and keeping drivers happy. Good to hear you're doing well at the new job. As a driver, you know what your boss doesn't: drivers want to be left alone to do their job unless there is a problem. Hopefully your brand of dispatch will catch on there.

Ok pickup a load at a shipper where they held me for 6 hours ( their computers where down) so that just about ran out my 14. Ran the rest of my 14 shut down with 500 miles to go on the load. Sent a mac 5 telling them I can not make in on time bacause with my 10 and distance I was going to be late. They say they are going to look to repower my load to get it there on time. I can start driving in an hour and I just got the notice that they have someone comming to repower my load.
Question at this point why? -
Doulos, thank you for your reply. The app I got from the central had this on it in the info. telling about the company. It said WI, IA, KS, MO, IL, IN, and OH the company position available for these residents is Midwest regional that you would run these eight states. I would like to run all states for a while then maybe consider a Midwest if you can make some money. how is Central for you? being from STL and all. Do you get home time and runs coming off home time? Again thank you for your time.
-
Chris91 do you run all 48? how long have you been with Central? Thank you for your reply.

I will be out on my own and done with training Monday. I had the same attitude as you. where I wanted to run all 48 at first. But I got offered the Midwest fleet and decided to take it. I did a lot of back and forth driving with my trainer. So that solved my all 48 itch for now. just know that just because you are on the Midwest fleet. Doesn't mean you're stuck there.

So question for everyone. We are on a load that delivers in Ogden, ut Monday. But we will be there Sunday. So last night about 5am I was driving and got a message saying. this driver ran out of hours. can you switch loads with him. the load he has also delivers in Ogden and the 99 saidtheyll take it as soon as you get there. so me thinking sweet. This could get us unloaded a day early. I woke up my trainer and told him about it. he said no. we never switch loads. at first he said its because that's general fleet and were on dole. Then he said. You don't do it unless its your dispatcher them self asking you.
What would you guys do ? switch?
If you did. do you think it would upset your DM? -
Hay Chris I sent you a pm how you don't mind had a few questions.
-
The two work together. IF you're on a dedicated fleet you don't repower unless your dm or another dm on YOUR dedicated fleet asks you to. You can get a royal chew-out if your load is late because you saved someone else's. (not that I've ever done this) Saving loads even on the general fleet rarely works out in your favor, but if you're a company driver you don't always have a choice.
