There are bad shippers/receivers and bad drivers, there is no question about it. I've done both jobs and i've seen it. One time at the place i work now we had a driver bring a piece of machinery in a container with those removable roofs (like a tarp on top of it) and said its not his job to take it off, so i asked him did he expect me to climb on top of his trailer to open it for him and he said yes lol needless to say he was sitting in a parking lot until he changed his mind. He came back and asked if i could help him to take it off and i sure did... Most of the time its the attitude you give to people that will change things for better or worse
so the OP goes and does what he's told.... Unchain and untarp AND he puts his gear away....Not exactly something that happens in less than 20-30 minutes Why couldn't the guy have taken he break THEN while he was waiting for a live unload to get ready to unload. Seems there's both sides of an equation here that shows time management SUCKS at receivers and shippers both.
If you are willing to have an electronic babysitter in the truck then you deserve to be screwed around forever and unproductive. I have no sympathy for YOU PEOPLE! LMFAO
Also when i drove a reefer theres one place in chicago that comes to my mind. First time i checked in there was this glass window and behind was this elderly lady who very rude. I literally stood there for 15 min before she opened the window and said "what's your pick up number?" (not even can i help you or good morning, nothing) so after she gives you door # and you wait 2-6 hours to get loaded its the same thing to get your paperwork, wait till she opens the window and ask what door was i in and hands you your paperwork and just say sign here.... But like some posts say here you have to deal with it and can't get frustrated at everything...
Truck drivers with the electronic logs inside of their trucks are not the ones deciding whether or not they want them. If I recall correctly, it is the companies that they work for that make that decision.
Wrong. you could not be more wrong. The company decides to have them in the truck. BUT it is the individual driver who chooses to put up with that bs tracking device. The drivers who have tracking devices need to stop pointing the finger and start looking in the mirror! Grow a back bone and say no to freedomless devices
