I'll take your sat radio if it's still available on Thursday. I'll be heading south to head home (to colorado) as well so if you want to pm me your phone number you could probably save you a trip up to wvc. Let me know.

Sounds like you need to voice the concern over the qualcomm with your dm, give it awhile, if not fixed, time for a new dm.Then atleast you can say you voiced your disappointment.

How is this company for someone returning to trucking after 10 years? They have a refresher course and I am thinking about going for it. I am stuck in a dead end factory job making under 20K a year. Had to leave trucking long ago due to having kids ^.^ I filled out an application and have been talking to Heather Schmidt

Both of my bunk / hotel mates were returning to driving after a period of time. The first guy left trucking for 12 years and was enrolled in there refresher program. If I remember correctly the only thing he really studied for/concerned about was the pre trip test. In fact that's where I got the idea for flash cards from.

Anyway, the one I keep in touch with just signed a lease and is burning up the miles.

I myself was stuck in a dead end warehouse job. Coming to central to get my cdl and start working towards career goals was the best decision I've ever made. Do I have frustrating days? Yes. I just keep reminding myself that the worst day I have in the truck still beats the best day at almost any other job I've ever had.

    Best of luck to ya.

How are your loads preset to you? My DM this past weekend gave me a walmart load, delivery appt of 0930 which was followed with an 01 p/u 150 miles down the road for 0930.

Before I even accepted the load I asked about the appt times. DM said the 01 would load me when I got there. I even let her know that we'd be looking at a 1500-1700 eta to the 01.

By communicating with my DM on the issue we ironed out the problem right then and there. If there was an issue with me being late both loads would have been pulled and I would have been sent to do something else.

But when a shipper takes more than two hours to unload, and I got an 01 appt time ticking away, I'm immediately talking to my DM. Two weeks ago she just got with customer service and had the 01 p/u time changed. I still barely made it, but the key was talking to my DM.

If I'm late to a p/u because of a delay at the prior 99 my hands are tied. But I'll never accept a load (like the first example) until I get those details ironed out and on the QC. Why the QC you say? So I can copy and paste my DMs reply to a night/weekend dispatcher if they come a bugging.

Worked like a charm on this weekends load.

"why are you late to 01?" comes across the QC when I mac 13. I quickly reply and then copy/paste any relevant info from my conversation I had with my DM when I accepted the load. All I got back was a "10-4" :)

Ok here's a good one for you. I am supposed to have two pickups today. At the first one they filled my trailer with their pos and the pos for my second pickup?

+1 on all of this except night dm's are lucky to get a response from me. They're not on Kraft, and they don't know what's up.

I'd add one thing: if your load gets pulled make sure you get another one right away. If they don't have one for you quickly start asking where your next load is. Don't let them pull a load and leave you sitting.
