If you are hired at yellow as a CDL driver, you have to start working on the docks first before you can drive. This is why I didn't go with Yellow.
-
Yellow is the largest Union carrier in freight.
They own numerous companies including the USF corporation. -
-
the people the moneeeeeeey!!!!!!!!
-
In Denver Yellow offered 16/hr for dock work, then when you moved to driver you got a 2 dollar raise if you did local work. OTR for Yellow out of denver was .36/mile
-
hmm..abf pays that too..i think ima look at all union jobs first.
-
these ar "casual" rates - and not full time employee rates.
work as a casual for a bit - then move into a regualr employee package...
(then you will be covered under the NMFA) -
not true. they hire direct for road as do all Union LTL carriers. -
many of us never get laid off - and I have NEVER been laid off...
the guys last year that were laid off for a couple of months still made more than the average guy working 12 months out of the year.
(it is all about budgeting)
