    Hi guys,

I am about to lease a small warehouse for my wholesale business. I was wondering if a 53' foot truck would be able to back into this dock. Here are some pics:

(The red line is measured at 76ft)

The owner says that it shouldn't be a problem, but just to double check, I wanted to ask people with experience.

Let me know if you guys need any other info. I appreciate your help!

Get those parking spaces changed to a no parking zone and you might have a shot. From the space the van is in all the way across that building in front of your space as well. Otherwise you will be blocking the drive way.

It'd fit but the question is getting it in there. And everyone can't drive.

I really don't think so. Couple things 76 feet from dock to those cars? That's the length of a truck. Second thing where is how would a truck even get to your dock? And then there that wall next to the dock. And if a truck was able to get to your dock he would have to blindside in around the wall.

You don't want drivers blind backing in tight spots. I would dedicate the right dock to big trucks to give more swing room from that retaining wall. It looks like that dock was built for box trucks. The height looks low like 8" or so. Get a good dock plate and it shouldn't be a problem.

Let the first truck (Swift) wipe out a few cars and they'll all park on the other end from then on out! :)

Its doable. Truckers would have to come in along the bottom side of the building and angle in between the two buildings and the small parking lot. The biggest problem may be trying to get back underneath it when you get the trailer lined up to the dock if those cars are parked there. My question is, is that the dock itself sticking out from the building or this that an awning for the dock?

I really resent that last remark. I'm thinking of going to swift as a way to get back on the road after 4 years away. And your comment about wiping out "a few cars" is completely uncalled for. Probably wouldn't be more than one or two of them at the most.

Looks like from that picture above, that it was set up for short tandems and maybe pups.

The company I drive for moved lots of junk trucks from in front of the place in Brooklyn since a new guy is running it. Before, it was like the one in the picture.
