You are correct lilrich but this is Swift training! :biggrin_2559:

The only driving you can do is in your POV going home.

I would challenge them on it. The key word is "and". 13 +1=14 no matter how you look at it.

If the question said "you are there for 13 hours, including a 1 hour lunch break", then yes, you can drive 1 hour, since you are still within the 14 hour window. If you are there 13 hours on duty/not driving, and an hour lunch after that, you have exhausted your 14 hour window.

There is no "I think", or "As I understand it" about it. You started working at 6 AM, which means you can work and drive until 8 PM. You worked till 7 PM, and then took a break till 8 PM, which puts you right at the end of your 14 hour window. But if you stay off duty, or go into the sleeper, you only need to do so another 9 hours, since you already have 1 hour of your break done.

I would hope you were getting paid at least $175 for the 13 hours of work, since you killed your whole day doing it.

Momma told me I can't drive for one hour after eating, or maybe that was swimming, I had Qualcom problems, That Galvinezed bucket didn't help. I didn't know it blocks the signal. Sorry. It fit right over that little white thing. Lol

yea i argued with the teacher/instructor about that question and many of the students in the class that is was wrong. IM SO GALD I WAS RIGHT!! swift is teaching there new students some bad HOS crap. heck they dint even go over the new HOS regulations at all. there books are outdated that they have them read to. I thought swift was bad but not this bad. I was in there school till just today when the medical came back saying i tested positive for THC trying to find a way to get that BS off my record now arrgh frustrating.

I was one of there best trainees and showed the other trainees how to do there log books and skills testing tricks/tips that the instructors dont tell them. its not a wonder why swift greenhorns have such an issue in the real-world since i have experianced there training first hand. honestly went there because they were in my home town and only 3 weeks retraining (as i call it as i still remember my how to do this job from in 06)
So when you guys see swift driver having a hard time backing in dont get mad at them its not 100% there fault they didnt receive a good education! be a good guy and help them out if you have the time.

This is the joke the industry has become. Someone with drive, ambition, curiosity, and perseverance will be eliminated. Meanwhile your morbidly obese classmates will get drunk off their a$ses (legally) and health care costs will continue to skyrocket. What an insane situation.

But it is a shame if it gets you disqualified if you are someone with drive, ambition, curiosity, and perseverance.
