And if you're .04/mile fuel bonus is going to be determined by a .1 difference in fuel milage as opposed to driven over dispatched you have an issue. The most miles I have ever been off between what I was paid on and what I actually drove was a whopping guess what 20 miles. IF it is THAT HUGE of an issue and you're so worried about you're fuel milage bonus guess what get a lawyer and sue prime. For their ifta they have to use total milage on the truck which is where they will calculate you're fuel economy and go off your trip sheets. So there is your lawsuit over your .04 cents per mile. For somebody that is so stupid there is your simple solution. And with the way society is you will probably winthat lawsuit as well.
Now since everybody else aside from MNdriver is an idiot here's some math for you. If you're paid .32cpm over at prime and since you're so worried about fuel milage decide to run a whopping 52mph instead of 63 where its governed you will lose 121 miles per day. That's 605 miles/week or 2571 miles/month. Now since prime uses Qualcomm you cannot fudge or cheat your log and run 52 log 60 and drive over on milage and still save fuel. That being said I would rather run 12000 miles/month at .32/mile and not worry about a .04/mile fuel bonus. Than run 9500/month at .36 with a fuel bonus. That's an extra $500/month in my pocket or an extra 6500/year. But I forgot I'm an idiot. An idiot that just took 2 minutes and a calculator to prove that running harder and getting more miles will pay off better than driving slow and worrying about a fuel economy bonus.

he had a legitimate question. Sorry if you didn't see it for what it is. My last company, we were required at the start to record weekly trip reports and turn in mileage AND fuel used. They also pulled the data from our qualcomm.
It wasn't until after I worked there for 5 months, we no longer had to turn in weekly trip reports for fuel and mileage.
And it makes a difference. There was more than a 0.1 mpg difference from the QC to what my reports were showing. I claimed it was at 6.4, they claimed it was 5.7 or 5.8. But I know it was over a 0.5 mpg difference.
Run over a fleet, those numbers are significant and as a business owner I would sure as hell want to get that addressed as it's some serious money when you start multiplying that by a large fleet number.Last edited: Jul 12, 2013

Some of those supertruckers don't get it. If I run 57mph in my team lease prime truck and it gets .5 mph better than his truck that puts $18000-$20000 in my pocket per year. Now if he wants to HAMMER down and fly iwill get 1.0 mpg better which equals $40000 more in my pocket. HE works more and makes less.............So drive low and slow even as a company driver for one day u might want to b a o/o who wants to know how to make money the easy way.

My bad I was looking at 2mpg figuring on him wide open 6mpg and me taking it easy at 8mpg

so you are saying that your speed at 55-60 and his (or mine) at 65-67 mph is going to make such a big difference in mpg that it's going to cost us an extra $15-18,000 annually.
And that speed difference is the ONLY thing that will affect our fuel mileage?
And as such, it will cause us such an issue as to likely put us out of business? -
The math does not lie. Every o/o out here knows of this and yes it is their truck to drive however they want but they shouldn't b putting down any driver who wants to drive 55-57. If these SUPERTRUCKERS want to play Smokey And The Bandit and think they are " OUTLAW " tell them to go on and b quiet. Every driver out here has as much right to drive under the limit as they do over it.
