Millis' Reputation

Over the winter months I was having issues with not getting home on time but since the holidays it hasn't been bad. It really just depends on your dispatcher. 95% of the time you probably wont have an issue.

 

MTownz, did you get home on the days you requested off?

 

During the winter it was hit and miss. Since the weather warmed up I haven't had any issues. I believe the guarantee part of the home time policy is more accurate in terms of the amount of time off as opposed to the timeliness of the fulfillment of the request if that makes sense.

I was looking at the pay charts and why do they offer you "practical miles" or "hhg" miles? I see the actual "practical" miles pay less because your gonna be driving more miles cause hhg is always short. Are they pretty much the same in terms of gross pay at the end of the week?
Whats the per diem pay like?
Are those cameras that face in the cab on all the time or only in a critical event like a hard braking event?
i seen one of the trucks today and it was sharp looking. Super singles all the way around. Are all the trucks specced like that?
Sorry for all the questions but I'm looking for a new company. Sharkey just isn't cutting it anymore. I was looking at k&b outta Sioux city for the guaranteed pay thing. Does millis have consistent miles week in an week out?

 

all trucks 2012 and newer have super singles and I get steady miles 3000+ except for weeks I go home

 

Yes all of our trucks are very nice, and the miles are there but it depends a lot on how hard you run and how good your dispatcher is. We have a few dispatchers that will let you be lazy if that's how you want to run, others don't give you a choice.

 

I've been following the Millis threads for over a year now but the last few weeks it's been really quiet around here. I hope everyone is getting what they signed up for...miles! I am still in the process of elimination as far as starter co.'s go but was heavily leaning towards MTI as my means of obtaining a CDL. I see a lot of drivers are not pleased with the camera's installed on some trucks, is this the main reason you guy's/gals have been so quiet lately? Or maybe running so hard you don't have the time to post? I'm not sure what to make of all of this...all I know is I had Millis at the top of my list and now i am having second thoughts. I live in western Pa. and am also looking at Schneider(tanker) among others. Stay safe and be well!!!

 

It's actually all around been slow for freight to be honest. I am sure there are some guys who are still getting really high miles, for me its jsut been steady for the most part. I think its been quiet because a lot of guys have been on vacation etc. Also there are suppose to be some changes rolling out around August so people may be quitely waiting to see what happens.

 

yeah i have been on vacay. then i am taking my second week of vacay the last week of this month. i am in the process of moving so i have tons to do. that is why i havent been posting lately.
