I worked for mclanes foodservice out of memphis Tennessee for a year and a half and I made my first year around
63000. But I was miserable working night and there were guys making close to a hundred, if I recalled the top
guy was making 92000 and on average guys was making around 75000. now with that being said the memphis hub was one of the lowest paid. Those nights driving and working jus sucked to me and trying to sleep in the daytime in the hotel for 10hrs and get right back up and do it all over again and then drive back, no amount of money in the world could make me go back.. I have worked for merchants foodservice for 2yrs now out of shuttle yard in Mississippi..I start at 530 in the morning done by 230 m-f off on the weekends and we share the yard with 2 Sysco trucks they pay more but do more work, guy recently quit Sysco after 11yrs non of us jump ship and we got
4 drivers in that yard...I normaly gross a little 1100 but I am fine cause I am not working hard.

Well, I applied for McLane Riverside, Ca. Received a call back the next day from HR. My stupid Iphone was muted by accident! But a message was left to callback on Tuesday. Excited to leave OTR.

Yellow Gatorade I wish u well.. I mean mclanes is a good company and good paying company if u can adjust to the
night driving and working in the middle of the night u will be just fine, especially if you trying to come from otr I would definitely recommend from that sh**..but the money is there and out of Memphis where turn over rate is high
you can get as much of the money as your hos and body can handle. In foodservice if you can last 6 months you want quit because of the hometime and $$$$. Most the people that talk about foodservice has never done it..It becomes just another day.

Hey guys been reading the forum, seems like mc clane is good company. I currently have one year tractor trailer experience delivering beer locally. I am now shopping for new companies to apply with and would like to do food service. I have a clean record and can run a dolly up and down all day. I checked the website and they ask for 2 years exp , should I just go ahead and apply or not even bother and just keep searching elsewhere???? I put my year in, to get some experince now just want something that will pay much better.....Thanks

i did beer too. i made the mistake.. well mistake for me anyways of going into food service. foodservice jobs like mc lane pay better than beer but its a lot tuffer than beer. Especially the schedule atleast in the beer business ur mostly early morning and dayshift vs food service ur mostly nights. But its upto u. me personally it wasnt for me. i did it for 2 yrs and didnt like it. the pay is good but i didnt like the work dealing with snacks and a dolly and having to unload all those cases everyday. give it a shot u might like it.

YES! What are ya waiting for???? sounds like you're very interested in going where the money is, so go for it...... whenever working foodservice choose either McClane, MBM, or any company that pays percentage on your deliveries plus hourly or base and benefits---- the company should pay you and pay you good for your odd hours and off-beat lifestyle, never less than $45,0000 gross p/300days............. you should be able to make $220 a day with McClane (from what I hear), unfortunately - I chose Oil Field sand hauling instead....... aweful choice, same income as OTR without the days off.
:biggrin_25510:........:biggrin_2559: , but you...my friend, are goooonnna beee allllllright!!!
