Also, you have you free exercise program since everything is usually hand offload. Lots of boxes to stack on palettes. I love the LTL loads to all our wholesale customers. You get some exercise lumping your stuff and most places you have access codes or keys to all the buildings. You usually come in after hours and drop your product with no wait times. I rather do a 20 drop run like that than some of the produce back hauls we have where it takes a day and a half to get loaded at 4 produce places.

Yeah I've done my research so I know about unloading yourself. The nice thing is the extra pay you get for all your stops. I will deffinantly get in shape quick. The problem is when I get workin like that I tend to lose weight and at 140 lbs now I can't afford that. The 2 months I was in school I lost a couple pounds. Gotta make sure I eat healthy and foods that will keep the weight on!!!!

I ran the extra board hauling produce & food, and ran the extra board by choice. I made more money than the drivers with set runs, plus didn't get bored with the same runs week after week. Not saying that would be the case where you are, but it worked good for me.

Everything went well. Passed the road test and there trucks have 10-speeds!!!! What a god send. I pretty much picked up where I left off just gotta smooth it out a little. The only thing I gotta work on which I'm a little surprised is my turns. Gotta make sure I turn wide. Trailer hit the grass twice but nothing major. I think it was nerves that played a part. Start orientation next monday for the week and have 2 more road tests before all is said & done. One will require me driving from Palm City, FL to Miami, FL via I-95. Total of 107 miles. Can't wait!!!!!!

I remember the first time I got behind the wheel. It is an experience you will never forget. Just take your time and always look twice before you do anything. I also must say armellini is definitely a good place to start. If you can handle slinging flowers you will be able to handle any trucking job! Good luck again and keep us posted.

Yes I will keep you posted!!! I'm excited and will give it my all. True story on looking twice before doing anything. I've gotta clean up my turns a bit and just make sure I'm always turning wide. I know next week when I do orientation it will be on my mind so I should do ok. So glad there trucks have 10-speeds. Big weight off my shoulders!!!!
