    Quick question
Is the fan on my 2009 volvo d13 with the engine off be able to turn by hand? or is activated by a sensor and locked to the "clutch/ frition plate"?
    Thanks in advance

Depends on what type of fan hub you have. Some free wheel when the truck is shut off, some others stay engaged until the truck is started and the air/solenoid is activated. There are also some electric/viscous drive fans.

    Thanks,
Looks like i have one air line going to the "clutch" if I were to run a air line from my house air compressor to this fitting and apply air to it, it should unlock then and i should be able to spin the fan..to test to see if it is working or not. Correct?
    Thanks again.

Or, just turn the key on and it should turn

    Thanks again
I do have air going to "air clutch" with key on, still cannot move fan by hand. I figure it must be toast and I will have to replace it when I get the chance,
