Been there, dont that, got the QC T-shirt. They are another one to stay away from. They will show ya good rates and you will do 'good' (Not really good) for the first 3 months or so n then things will dry up n you will end up owing them money.

Wyoming But, have regular hauls going to Regina, SK. I know that's a day from the house. But, that's not unusual for the guys we have working up there now. They work 3 weeks on and 1 week off. Some take the train home, some fly, some drive. If you're interested, you would have the trip home from SK, then return to WY to load when you return to work. It's going to be around $7450 to the truck for two moves per week. I'm figuring 1240 miles roundtrip. If you can average 2.5 moves per week, it'll be $9300 per week on average to the truck.
We have guys working in WY, ND and CO, averaging over $10K per week. I have to nail down some details on the SK moves, though, equipment required, volume and regularity. This is for one of three big customers we work for in WY.

Heavy crude is a gong show right now. Bit off way more than they can chew with the husky contract but have some connections in husky determined to make it work, so lots of wells high tanking, shut in, and other companies hauling fluid. Dispatch has no clue about the area they are handling and are often in tears from the abuse they get from both husky operators and the drivers.

Most of the guys who left Stanchuck to pull for them are getting extremely frustrated and are very concerned about how bad their first payday is going to be.

Mullen seems to be the Borg of trucking in oilfield country. Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated...

I was in the cut shack at talisman in chauvin a couple months ago when the operator was called out to help a new Silverman driver unloading at one of the clean risers. When he came back he was a bit stunned to have discovered the driver didn't know how to reverse his pump to drain his hose when he had a bit of leakage around the cam locks.

Some of the heavy crude noobs hired to help with the husky contract were even worse if the stories I was hearing are even close to the truth. It's scary when a company needs drivers faster than they can possibly train them.

Rick sims trucking lost the contract north of the river before Stanchuck was done south of the river, and some pretty clueless guys were brought in. Pumpers had to show at least one guy where to hook up at a well and how to load lol. The sims guys were asked to come back on hourly to help get the field running again but were using heavy crude tickets - likely so it looked good at husky board meetings rather than letting them know how bad the takeover had flopped.

When payday came heavy crude didn't pay the full hourly bills, just what they figured it should be. Their trucks refused to haul any more and husky was calling to see what was up. Sims soon was working direcctly for husky again to guarantee they would be paid.

South of the river I saw Stanchuck guys using heavy crude tickets for their hourlys in June, I'm sure they will get treated just as well on payday lol. CbarM you were wise not to take that work...

Not trying to say I know it all, but I trained a couple noobs for Heavy crude hauling North of the river, their top guy is a liar and POS. Murray Mullen the owner lives in Calgary and guess where Husky head office is! Husky is a dirty player, heavy crude is the second company that they have brought back from the dead to keep the competition going and lower the rates yet again. Mullen group charges a hefty comission compared to other brokers, hence rates are even lower.
