I hope as a four wheeler I won't get crucified for asking this but I was wondering what are some of the more common mistakes four wheelers make on the road. Also I'm interested to hear some of the more outrageous stories you all might have dealing with reckless or just plain stupid drivers.

For me it is a 4 wheeler that passes me and slows down in front of me or one who cuts me off. If I am going down a mountain or steep grade with a big coil the last thing I want to do is decide do I ditch the truck or kill the fool when I run over them.

The other night, I almost lost my cool and ran a family in a MB Wagon off the road...
I was running up i-81 from exit85 to the ny line, this jerk driving his stupid family in a Mercedes wagon was making me FURIOUS...
My truck runs 72 and thats what I drive...I passed this guy who was doing less than 60, he speeds up and stays next to my passenger door untill he had to slow again for slower traffic.
Then he passes me when i am climbing a hill(he should), but on the downhill he stays in the left lane and does 60....effectively blocking the road again, as the right was blocked...
he continued to slow me up and drive like a jerk for the next 160 miles until I turned off on i-86.
This kinda stuff makes me furious...
LEFT LANE IS FOR PASSING>>>
Right lane is for driving.

My pet peeve, is when I'm doin' highway speed in the right lane and aproaching a get on ramp, to find a 4 wheeler trying to get on at 40 mph, which makes me get over, only to see said 4 wheeler start to begin to accelerate to highway speed along side me, to which I end up merging back into the right lane.
I say don't try to enter the freeway at such a lame speed. It just effs up all existing highway traffic. -

If you're going to pass a truck leave some space, don't cut the truck off
Don't ever cut a truck off because at the last second you realize that you needed to get off at your exit. You should have be paying attention, just go to the next one and turn around. I can't tell you how many times I have seen someone come close to killing their entire family because of stupid moves like this.
Some people just don't know how to merge, some get scared and get to the end of the ramp and hit the brakes, Just step on the gas for #### sakes.
Stay out of the blind spot, I have run cars off the road simply because I didn't know they were there. It is not a good idea ever to run along beside a truck for any length of time.
If you see a truck trying to make a turn, give him some space, trucks need to make wide turns, don't pull up past the white line at a stop light.
When I put my turn signals on it really means that I am turning, some jerks speed up when you put your signal on, they are so impatiant that they can't stand to be behind a truck for a few seconds while I pass someone.
I hate tailgaters, and impatient people, and people who think they own the road. Don't come up behind me flashing your high beams and think that I am going to hurry up and get out of your way, I might just hit the brakes on you, your little car does not intimidate me.
When it is raining turn your lights on, it makes it much easier to see you.
When the weather is bad stay home. If you are that scared to drive in snow do everyone a favour and stay off the road.Stroked F550 Thanks this. -
Also I never got this, but people approaching the last 500 feet to their exit. Why do they need to speed up pass the truck and then have to cut in front of him almost missing the exit making the truck and everyone else have to slam the brakes? I saw a truck almost jack knife in front of me because of that one day.
And people who ride beside trucks. I always have had a fear of trucks carrying a heavy load losing a tire and squishing me in between it and a concreet barrier. Also you never know if there's a guy changing a tire or construction around the corner and you can't see a through a truck when you're next to him up his side, and he can't see you in certain places. If you're up his side when that happens, you'll be luckey if you don't get run over. So if the car(s) in front of me are taking their time passing, I'll just wait 20 seconds 1 foot behind the trailer's bumper until there's enough room where I can drop my car down to 4th and pass the truck and get into his site.
Just some things I've seen my 4 wheeler mates do. -
I've seen my fair share of outrageously stupid behavior, but I figure as much time as y'all spend on the road you've probably seen things that would make my hair curl. Anyone have any other stories about reckless or just plain stupid driving? Also I'm kinda curious if there is anything you can do when you encounter one of these wildcat drivers aside from getting on the CB and giving everyone a heads up.

More than I can remember. Early nineties in Illinios, I seen human hamburger in the left lane, as authorities let traffic pass on the right slowly (this would never happen today)....More human hamburger in Indiana when a woman comited suicide by jumping off a bridge just as a big truck was comming along......Upsidedown city cop cars on the expressway I-94 in Chicago, (dry road conditions to boot)....blow jobs with the driver all over the road swerving from lane to lane.....And I'm not even mentioning weather related incidents here.
It's truely unbelievable how many people out there who simpley can not go from point A to point B without totaling out a vehicle, or killing each other, or both, on dry roads.
