Elmer Buchta Trucking headquartered out of Otwell, Indiana. They do not pay well, mess your checks up on a regular basis and leave you hanging. It's a trucking company being ran more like a corporation than a trucking company. If you don't like to drive for cheap...avoid them!

All 3rd party companies suck. The best ones are the ones who transport their own product, or union shops. Yeah I'm biased, but you're not going to get more than $23/hr at a non-union shop.

Largest check per week averages $425! 400 miles a day, some of those miles over haul roads that beat the crap out of you and your truck!

    Ghost Ryder Thanks this.

That is pretty low, IMO. Is this P&DC or line haul? I personally wouldn't even turn the key if a P&DC job paid less than $1200 bi-weekly.

They haul coal mostly, local dispatch, home every night deal. (I ran OTR years ago and got out doing only local H.E.N. stuff since.)

Personally, I don't drive on-the-cheap for anyone. My bring home pay has to be at least $700 a week, or I pass. (Unless I am using a job simply for a go-between.) When I brought the pay ($700 base) during the interview, they didn't bat an eye. However, after receiving my first check...I cleaned out my truck. Too, they messed up my first check and the truck issues were something to consider as well.

These days OTR does not pay well at all. I get calls all the time and they tell me I can make $800 bring home a week like that is something special! I usually just laugh at them and hang up. I wouldn't even consider OTR for anything less than $1500 a week. (Mainly because I have no desire to drive OTR anymore.)

But I am looking for a company where I can drive out the rest of my years and retire from there. Good pay, good trucks...very few issues.

Depending on what kind of car you drive, it wouldn't be worth it as you'd be spending too much for gas.
