Lol thats who ever told you that is full of it, 500hp is not restricted to just offroad use. Look out there some and see that over 30% (and thats only a guess) of trucks forsale new and used are over 500hp from factory. In fact Im almost sure that there are more trucks running over 500Hp that there are running under 400hp out there on the road tonight.

Again, a 435 N14 will go to 500 with just a computer upgrade. to get it to 525 you have to start throwing parts at it.
I have half a dozen friends running 700 to 800hp on stock drivelines with no problems -
i took my truck to the freightliner dealership i told them to turn every thing all the way up .they told me that it had the small cam after dynoed it now was set to 470.hp my mistake i think what your trying to say is yes if the motor has a big cam it can be turned up to 500 or550 but not the small cam 375/435. there's no reason for the dealerships mechanic who hooked up the computer to my truck to lie to me it was my truck to get ure power i think you need to Chang injectors and detuned it an ma be change the turbo /big money]..

So just turn it up yourself. As far as freightliner dealerships, well clueless..... lets just leave it at that. I like it how they say you have a RTLO16713A and wanna go to 1850 torque, sure they will tell ya no way the first time u step on the throttle it will split that input shaft in half, lol.... right

I had a 03 KW 900L with a 500ISX and at 250000 we turned it up to 600hp and still at 1850trg when it was dynoed cummins in Bloominton IL. it came out with 545 at the rear wheels and that cost $250 bucks and it ran great especially with 18spd and 3.36 rears.

hey wizard4x4,since you had it turned up,how much boost are you running now?do you have a temp gage on the turbo,whats the temp running on full load and pulling hard,like climbing a hill,just curious.seeya

There was no pyrometer on my 03.The boost went up to 32 and was steady pulling.The temp gauge stayed the same even on hard pulls.

I know that Bullydog has put out a Power Pup for the ISX and ISM also for the DDEC 4 and 5. Its supposed to increase HP 15 percent and save big on fuel.

i am looking at a freightliner with an n14. the guy says its a 330 hp engine. i havent been outhere to get the engine numbers to call cumming to see if this engine can be turned up to 430hp. anyone have experience with a 330 hp engine.
