The disparity in damage is incredible. The pickup is basically turned into a convertible and the trailer looks virtually undamaged.

Deadly crash leads to I-894 closure Monday

GREENFIELD - Part of the Milwaukee area freeway system will be shut down until close to the noon hour due to a deadly crash.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner has gone to the scene of a crash on southbound I-894 at Beloit Road. A man died in that crash.

Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputies have shut down that part of the freeway. Traffic is being diverted off the freeway at Beloit Road.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department says a pickup truck rear ended a semi. The pickup was wedged under the semi with the driver stuck inside.

Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Jodi Becker reports that the lanes will remain closed until at least 11:00 a.m., possibly 12:00 p.m. as crash investigators were working the scene.

The department is asking drivers to avoid the area entirely.

The closure is expected to last for some time. There are big delays into the scene.

Or maybe the emergency crew had to remove it when they were dislodging the pickup from under the trailer?

Wow, almost as bad as what happened on I44 a few years back when a school bus slammed into the back of a pickup that got lodge under a bobtail.

It’s a proven fact that the ICC bumpers on trailers made in the USA are only strong enough to hold a trailer up against a dock and that’s about it. ICC bumpers made in the EU are far more resistant against rear end collisions. And by the looks of how far that truck drove under the trailer, the ICC bumper didn’t stand a chance.

i can't imagine that trolling rolling around on the highways without SOMEONE putting him OOS for no bumper.

colorado wanted to give me flack one time becuase the ends of my bumper were torn off somehow. i had wood at the ends to keep the mud flaps from flapping in the wind. according to texas.

I would be willing to bet the ICC bumper was there prior to the rear ender.

You know the ICC bumper was there. The carrier and driver hopes and prays at least 2 stop lights on the trailer prove to be in working order at the time of the accident though. That's all it will take to turn an unfortiunate accident due to inattention on the motorist's part around and making it the carrier's fault.
