I am interested in driving for Maverick but I am worried about three things.... First of all, their trucks are automatics, and evidently automatic trucks don't actually roll so how will I get any miles in a truck that doesn't move. Second, the trucks are Maroon, and I am very worried that color will contrast poorly with my eyecolor. Could be a dealbreaker for me. Third, I hear that it gets hot and cold outside, that could really suck having to actually work in changing environments such as these. And fourth (HA!) I live in the Midwest area of the country where all of the steel freight moves, I am worried that I may not get home each weekend. All of these things make me think that I should look elsewhere, but I REALLY WANT TO DRIVE FOR MAVERICK..... Hmmm....what should I do????? :biggrin_2559:

Go work for the postal service! Since you live in the midwest you will work in 140 degree trucks in the summer that have no AC and just a little fan that blows hot air around then in the winter since most of the heat in the trucks don't work you will be working in -20 degree conditions. The mail volume isn't what it used to be so they will find other work for you to do. Then you have to worry about peoples dogs that they say don't bite! The management will tell you you are too early if you are 30 seconds early and then tell you you are too late if you show up even 30 seconds late. OH but if you have a bulging tire they want you to drive the truck! Working for them will make you numb to anything you have to do later in life! :biggrin_2559:

Haha nice guys. I just got to little rock for orientation. Pretty excited. Everyone is nice and the facility is really clean and welcoming. Yes I know...stay off the grass. Can't say I blame them though. Compared to a couple others this is a much nicer main terminal.
