not much different... you will have waaay longer trips on 48, make sure you know how to use the reefer... tho its pretty basic, turn on.. turn off... lol. cleaning them out is hell of a lot harder than sweeping out a dry van. be prepared to sit for live loads/unloads, your days of drop and hook are over. make sure to keep that sucker fueled! eventually you'll get used to the noise

skootertrashr6 and Jason D Thank this.

With company I am with now, no po needed. Washout when needed, write a tch check or tcheck when needed (they keep 150-200 on card at all times for us) for it if not on a charge account, fuel reefer and def when/where needed with no authorization or asking required. If it's not very bad will just sweep out, but most meat places or ice cream loads always want it washed out, have done maybe 3 dry loads in past 3 1/2 months. About 50% of my loads are drop and hook.

usually with reefer at may it was just pieces of pallet, since those warehouses seemed to LOVE to tear them up, running dry side I dont see why they did that cause now I never have crap back there like I did with a reefer. and yeah, being able to get what you want when you want without having to beg for it is sooo much different. I didn't get a fuel plan when i left washington, they just told me to fill up in wilsonville, OR at our termiinal, got to LA just under 1/8th so I just stopped at the pilot and got half a tank without having to ask anyone for it before I parked for the night. should have gotten some when i left fernley or whatever near reno but i forgot I was like #### hope I make it to vegas, cause theres like nothing on 95 which is like 400 miles until you get to sin city lol

Ugg! Fernley, what an armpit of a town lol,I got stuck there for 24 hours in a May truck once and I was not happy.
They did have a good prime rib dinner and the casino across from the peelot though.
