I'm only in my 4th solo week, but I make an effort to talk to other Millis drivers every chance I get. What I'm finding out is this: the guys that have negative attitudes seem to be getting fewer miles. Seems to pan out whether they've been here a year or two or more than ten. And from talking to them I get the feeling they brought that attitude with them when they came to Millis.
Every gig has its ups and downs. It's how you deal with them that counts...

Please explain how everyone else is nuts but you're not. Because the majority of the other posters aren't having the same problems that you are. Or maybe cause others aren't pissed off at the company for whatever reason. Or cause others are happy working at Millis. Or is it cause others aren't mad at the company for the way you have personally been treated.
Just based off reading all the previous post most people seem pretty happy to be here. You and IndianaEMT seem to be the only ones complaining and trying to convince others that Millis is some type of horrible place to work. Samurai I've met you a few times and my impression of you is that you seem to be a pretty nice guy. You have always seemed to be a hard worker. As far as your personal experience while here at Millis just to be honest people here are only getting one side of the story. Yours. I can't sit here and try to defend the company when I really have no clue as to why things have turned out the way they have as far as your experience. But I can say this. We as drivers have no clue exactly what's going on with our dispatchers at any time. And the same can be said about us. Most dispatchers dont know the life of a driver and vice versa. If it takes them some time to get back to you after you send a message maybe the are dealing with a problem that another driver is having or maybe there were 30 other drivers waiting for load info also and you happen to be at the bottom if the list. I agree with you. Communication between disp and drivers could be better. But it's no secret that the dispatchers have well over 100 drivers on their board. I personally make a point to try not to contact them with anything unless absolutely necessary. I figure the less they know me the better. Last thing I want is to be indentified as a problem driver. That's just the way I look at it.
I wish you the best wherever you are going. It's unfortunate to hear that your experience here hasn't been the greatest. The main reason I chose Millis is because of this forum. You were in the class in trenton directly before mine and even your post helped me in making that decision. It was the only company specific one I read that didn't have a ton of people complaining about this or that. I still believe Millis is a great company to work for wether its for a new person with no experience or an experienced driver. But for anyone to even try to compare Millis to Swift, Werner, C R England etc or to say they are turning in to a CDL mill is completely ridiculous. I'm not saying you've specifically have done that but some have tried on here to make that comparison. Even with that said Swift might be a good place to work for certain people. And you are also correct in saying that each individuals experience can be totally different. But like I've heard many times it only takes one bad thing to cancel out 10 good ones. At least that's the way a lot of people see it. A lot of people only focus on the negative.
Once again my opinion. Good luck to you.slim shady, jtp4g, MTownZ and 1 other person Thank this. -
Please! Go back and read my posts and please tell me where I've said it was a horrible place to work? Also in your reply PLEASE tell me how many times I've said "Millis is a great company to start with". Also I'm sure your pointing at me about my werner comment. That was in replyto a message that said "millis has been around for many years and will still be around long after you or I are gone" I said something to the effect of, werner has been around a long time too, and they are not going anywhere either, does that make them a good company?

rarudi Thanks this.

Also if you don't think you can do any better with pay/hometime than millis being an experienced driver you're delusional

But you have also said. I may be wrong but I think they are trying to grow to fast. Seems they are cutting corner at the drivers expense to get more warm bodys in trucks.
I hate to say it but I think they are on a downward spiral
While I also admit these are just your opinions and you are completely entitled to them but like I stated above it still gives the wrong overall impression. And to get on the Millis forum and openly discuss the fact that you are actively looking for other work while working here is in my opinion slightly unethical. It would cause me concern knowing your distaste with the company and how that affects your students attitude. I'm not saying you sit there and complain all day to your student about the company but I'm sure it has to bleed over and could possibly affect his attitude also. -
