Those that are braggarts of how much they make are usually the ones who are trying to impress...... Right?

Just in case you missed it, the original poster asked if it could be done. Our responses were to his question, not our egos. I am OK with you making less than $1,000.00. As long as you are working, I have respect for you. If you don't believe us, that's fine. I really don't care. If you ever want to make more, all you have to do is listen. As far as my ego goes, I am sure there are many on here that make a lot more than me. The difference is, I don't laugh at them, I ask them how they do it. I can, always, improve my game.

This is a clear example of how to do in this business. This Forum is chock-o-Full of this gems. Some is asking where the reefer loads are. This is a great answer !!!!

I subscribe to the USDA veggie and produce report. Not perfect but it's good info to have to get an idea of what's hot and what's not. Here's a link to a sample >> http://search.ams.usda.gov/mndms/201...DAILY_MOVE.pdf

Shhh!! Just let everyone keep thinking that!! Of course if they are smart as they claim to be, they'd watch and see MANY of the big box companies either have or building up an intermodal fleet; Swift, Knight, Celadon, Schneider, GP, JB Hunt, Transport America to name a few

The ones who are saying this can't work, that's impossible, etc. have either not been around the business for long, or have stagnated in the megacarrier driver pools drinking the Kool Aide there (and that includes the fleece ops who haven't made it, too). Nobody here is trying to impress anybody else...this is a pretty stand up group of people, who call it as they see it, be it good, bad or ugly.

The work is out there, and the money is out there. But it won't fall in your lap, nor (in many cases) will you get it handed to you by another O/O, either on this forum or elsewhere (after all, he is your COMPETITION, remember?).

It's faster and cheaper to put it on a train or boat. And it's so many companies in the business the rates have dropped for steam ship lines. Not for J.b. Hunt!

no, it's rather easy to clear $1000 net profit a week even staying local.

You are not driving the miles so you don't HAVE to have to gross revenue to cover the fuel/maintenance.
