    Hey all,
Looks like I'll be getting a job offer from NEMF (P&D - 2nd shift -or Line-haul - 3rd shift) and R&L Carriers (P&D) regular first shift work. I've been having a real difficult time making a decision so I'd figure I'd ask everyone here for some input. What do people think of line-haul? From what the manager told me I wouldn't be making as much money as opposed to P&D work. I do have some experience with P&D freight so i have an idea of what that's like. When it comes to benefits and pay, R&L pays more per hour (minus overtime) but their benefits are not as good as NEMF and NEMF pays overtime for P&D work and is union. Anways....I'd appreciate everyones input.

thanks landstar. how long has she been there? $1,500 seems high from what the pawtucket, RI TM told me, granted I'd be starting from the bottom. Do you happen to know how many miles she averages? Do you know if she has a pension?

She works 10-13 hours a night and then goes home..Top rate is around 1,500 a week.In which is .50 cents a mile..She runs about 2700-3000 a week. She runs from terminal to terminal, drop and hook...If i walk away and sell my rig,i am going to go over to NEMF and finish out local..

She has a nice pension and every benifit you can imagine...She has been there for 10 years..

$1500 a week in the northeast..hopefuly thats after taxes and not gross, because that is chicken shat wages up thataway. I'd say go with R&L..every company has their flavor of crap you have to put up with, but i use to see them alot when I lived in NY..

R&L is ok not one of the best places. Deff better off at NEMF. Only thing is they aren't really union. They have their own union within the company. One guy I met told me its w joke

to me thats good pay. they would be starting me at .38cpm which would end up being a lot less money per week. i guess if i were to get on board and stick it out, it would pay off with pension and all.

a lot of people say that union is a joke.
