pretty much every LTL company will hire with no experience..The day I cant pull a rocky mountain set or a set of triples is the day I am done with trucking..I will never ever go OTR.

It would be nice if they would start fixing some of the road to the GWB before it entirely falls apart. Husband hates that road due to all the roughness, had to replace a spring on one side of the truck that weakened, not going to say it was just from here but it didn't help.

They all want to collect money for taxes and tolls, but where does it go.

You knew the starting pay rate going in and you went with their offer. You've been driving 6 months so hang tough, make that 1 year anniversary.

Supply meets the demand. It doesn't create it.

If you're already burnt out for these reasons while only being on the road for 6 months, LTL isn't going to help you. In fact, LTL will make things worse. LTL is not a walk in the park. It's actually quite the opposite and harder to perform vs OTR, because the workload greatly increases. Just because you're home every night doesn't mean the job will be any different.

Good man, stick the other 6 months.. think of your career, it will be a breeze and your tolerance will be in better shape for when you leave. This is all about you, get paid and get home. Better than struggle trying to find another company that'll even pay you decent. Then you can shop around for a better company

Have a goal.. forget clowns on the phone, this is all about you

I'm in the same boat bro. I just got A class in may, but i've been driving trucks for 10 years on a B license. I don't want to go OTR, but everywhere I go they want 2 to 3 years. So I feel your pain bro. I was talking to a buddy of mine. He told me go hit the road for about 6 months, he said that 6 months OTR should be good for me to come home and get a local job.

I been in LTL for many years. In you think this is a easy job, Its not gonna be what your used to.

If you get sick of trafic this is not the job for you.

If you dont like a dispatchers watching everything you do, All trucks now have computers in them for billing with GPS . This is not the job for you.

If you get tired of fingerprint loads this is not the job for you. All new guys get the worst of everything, Pay, Hours, Equipment,

Dont like stress, Then this is not the job for you.

Get tired of shippers and receivers, This is not the job for you. You will deal with about 20 or more a day. In most LTL jobs you get about 10 - 15 minutes to make you Del or PU

Pros of this job are its mostly paid by the hour, Just like any factory job. I make more than most of the OTR drivers do and I only work about 45 hours a week.

Cons it can be back breaking work. Even with things like pallet jacks. Its like pushing the weight of a car around. New people have to work there way up the seniority ladder. That takes years not months.
