CR England is one of those companies that you want to stay away from. they don't recognize most trucking schools so they get you by saying you have to pay $1500.00 for their training course but they will finance you that cost, the catch is you have to stay with them a year or else you have to pay them that money. a good rule of thumb when looking for a starter company is if they say you can become a trainer after 3 months with the company then there is your first indicator. NOBODY can properly train someone to drive with only 3 months experience. I've been driving for 6 years and there's still a lot that I don't know. to train a new driver I personally feel the trainer needs a minimum of 5 years experience.

Poor C.R. Englund, Shiner, J.R. Bit you didn't it. Can't mass produce Truckers. I enjoy every moment of every commercial. Americas Owner Operators. No politics here, only laughter.

I don't know what you mean by "they don't recognize most trucking schools." Some corrections:

    • The school is approximately $3,000.
    • You have to stay with CR England nine months (recently changed from six months).
    • You have to have 6 months experience and a safe driving record to become a Phase 1 Trainer.

    To the original poster:

CR England is one of the worst companies to drive for and I imagine it is probably thee worst company out of the top 50 trucking companies in the United States. See my report on CR England.

CR England is a means to a CDL without coming out-of-pocket. It is also a place to learn how a company can screw over drivers. The reality is that there are a lot of weak people who cannot admit that they aren't cutout for trucking, so instead they badmouth companies. However, in the case of CR England, they are the most unethical company I have ever worked for/contracted to. My suggestion is to stay away if you can find a better place to get your CDL.

when I first started driving I talked with England, I went to a school in phoenix and I was told that even though I went to truck driving school and got my cdl they couldn't count it and I would have to pay for their refresher course, they said they would cover the cost of the course if I stayed for a year. recently my buddy got his cdl and started working for England, he has only been driving for England for 3 months and they asked him to become a trainer.
