I didn't read the entire thread but TA's on the west coast are actually not that bad. The Petro(same thing as TA) in nth las Vegas has a nice buffet and decent showers. Must just be a east coast thing, come to think of it everything seems to suck out there!!

I will weigh in with my opinion, which counts more than the rest of you since I'm a moderator (j/k)
All truckstop chains have ####e holes. For example I only stop at the loves in Odessa if I really have to take a poopie break and I'm not going to make it to the rest areas on either end of Midessa. I stopped at the TA in Roanoke once and haven't been back. The OKC Petro leaves much to be desired. Don't get me started on the Dallas J and the Meridian, MS Pilot!allniter Thanks this. -
I emailed TA to find the answer.....
Inquiring minds want to know now....
I used to really favor the old Union 76's. -
I remember eating at the Bloomsbury, NJ during the transition to TA from a 76 and the growing pains. And my first time in Ontario when the west one still had the 76 sign up. -
I'm just saying if you go around thinking everybody owes you respect, because you have a cdl. Then you are going to get your feelings hurt my emotional friend.
Good grief what did people do before there were chat rooms and social media outlets. Where one could get on their soap box and think "now I have the attention of the World. Hear me Roar" Cue thunderous applause!! They are chanting my name!! They are chanting my name!! Then you wake up and deal with real life.Night Prowler Thanks this. -
Dinomite and RedForeman Thank this.

the era of the multi-acre truck stop. In 1972, Truckstops of America (now known as TravelCenters of America) opened its first six locations. The early 90s when they started the name change.

I remember several yrs ago, got stuck in a snow storm in ft bridger wy in which 80 was shut down for several days...the Fool whom the TA hired to snow plow the parking lot aslo was the heavy duty wrecker driver for the area..he wouldnt plow according to his deal with the TA and wanted to charge $300 pull every truck stuck in the parking lot..
over 3 day period TA corporate got 1400 calls from drivers about the location and the ignorance about mgt there for which the ceo was down right ticked off..
we caught a mgr stating this.."these stupid truck drivers should just get out of here because they're just being a nuisance."
I & several drivers let her know exactly what we felt about that.
I haven't been back since that bs occured..that was in 2008.
