It's really funny to watch the yellow motor crowd these days. They either swallow their pride and buy a red motor and become fanatics for that while bad mouthing everything else or they buy a Paccar motor because their pride just won't let them buy a Cummins.
Meanwhile their beloved Paccar "real trucks" are looking more like Volvos and Freightliners with each new model year.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

this thread just went full mean...

lol I still love cat and I'm still buying one.. I hope mine won't let me down -
only the ones that don't know how to drive or work on the bulldozer motors. in your own words HA HA HA HA!
cetanediesel Thanks this. -
Unless you buy a 389 of course.
Also you can still buy a glider kit, put a 3406 or c15 in it. I saw on truck paper they got a 2014 w900L with a C-16 in it at 625hp for heavy haul.
If I buy my own truck it'll be an older Pete with a cat or if I get a cummins I'd like it to be an N-14 or signature 600. Shoot ill even take a big cam 400 -
Yes because a PT fuel system is so much more superior than an electronic control......
Ha ha ha ha ha ha that's a good one! -
What does that have to do with reliability? Sure an electronic control would most likely yield better MPG, but some of us would rather run a mechanical engine than to get into an electrical one. Also some would rather spend a little
More on fuel to have the engine they want. -
Go buy a Big Cam and the truck that it's in and show us all how it's done.
-
Um, that's not what I'm trying to communicate to you.
I'm not saying "I'm a bad@ss because I don't want an electric engine" or something, and I ain't trying to show anyone how anything is done, I got two years of experience, I have no room to tell anyone how anything is done.
I merely presented my opinion on things, and expressed my preferences, that's it. I ain't tryin to be billy big rigger over here. Some drivers prefer the older trucks, some prefer new trucks. I prefer to mix the two with buying a glider kit like a new 2014 W9 or 389 and putting an older engine in it. That's it. -
