Why are these guys asking what freight and what lanes all this money is in??? Do you really think that you are gonna be given a chance to become 'competition' for these guys who are really enjoying the niche they have now?? SamNotTheMan, you obviously dont understand how freight can be more profitable then what you haul with your Schneider trailer. TerryLamar, a few others here, and myself have taken the time to think 'outside the box' and are making what we claim. Why should we have to prove it to you? We dont, and as long as there are guys like you out there who think its BS, there will be that much more for us to pay our staff the generous bonuses that we already do.

I'd make more if I was counting in Canadian dollars. Maybe Zimbabwean? Maybe we should have trucker dollars to go along with trucker math.

It seems that the majority of disagreements here are centered around how one person states they are making a ballpark average of $X, and the next person says "There's no way, you can't possibly be making $X, because I am not making/can not make $X". Just because you can't do it doesn't mean nobody else can. Didn't we learn this in kindergarten? There's ALWAYS someone bigger, stronger, faster, smarter, more successful, and the list goes on. Your doubting someone else based on your own personal limitations is ridiculous, childish, petty, and petulant. If you've been in this industry awhile, you'll understand just how many variables there are, and why very little is an apples to apples comparison.

Oh, and the underlying assumption that if you won't reveal your freight base that's paying the nice rates, you must be lying is nothing short of absurd. There's no way I would tell anyone else my customers or lanes (or commodity even), if I'd worked my way into a nice little niche and was doing well with it. I congratulate the guys who've found their sweet spot, especially if that sweet spot has them passing the house regularly.

Incredible, some are posting numbers in the ballpark as claimed by other posters and in the next post denigrate the first poster for claiming those numbers.

So share the good news chief, how do you do it? I just started as an O/O last year and still hoping to make a decent living. Truth be told, most of my $$$ has gone to freaking mechanics that can't get it right, this goes for locals and dealers.

Questionable credibility is better then none like yerself. Ever heard the saying"Better to be thought a fool then open yer fat mouth n remove all doubt"? You should learn n live by that SanNotTheMan...
