I want to add that if he's asking about running Out Law this is not the place to do it. No one with half a marble in their brain should divulge information online that can be used to fuel laws against this dying segment of trucking. Its already difficult enough to make a buck in this business.

The general public and most (Compliant) drivers think were are all zombies behind the wheel anyway. For the most part we fudge only enough to make a delivery happen in order to make sure we can get enough sleep in between,.. at least thats how I do it. I cant speak for everyone,.. but I sleep when I need to sleep.

I thought thats what empty milk jugs were for?

Put a hole in the driver seat and we'd never have to stop. (Joke)

I think that has more to do with laziness. I'm a keep the left door shut guy,.. you guys would cringe if you knew how many miles I run each week. But I still pull over to pee. And now that I have my little girl (110lb Rotti) in the truck with me, I have to make sure she gets her exercise in each time I stop for mother nature, I know she needs a break too.

Not at all. Every time someone would say something especially smart around Sam (Dennis Weaver - I'm an old fart), he'd give them a cowboy nod of approval and say, "There ya go" in his cowboy accent. I though your "I sleep when I need to sleep" summed up proper logbook useage perfectly.

I'm in my mid 40's and only vaguely remember watching McCloud reruns 'Back in the day'.

I've been listening to Blue Collar comedy on satellite radio and there is a good ole boy comedian who has a bit that says you can finish any idiotic conversation with "Thar ya go". Cracks me up when I hear it. Though wasnt sure if you were being sarcastic or not. I like to think I make sense,.. but sometimes I have to ask myself,. "Did I just say too much?"

    Edit:
    And I agree.
The current HOS rules dont work well for all people. Particularly me. I like to charge hard until I am ready for sleep. Its not always happening when my 11 hrs are up. Sometimes I am tired after only 7 - 8hrs. Other times I am still wide awake after 12. I couldnt work under e-logs. I like to sleep when I am ready to sleep.

That is still not correct. This is the kool aid they fed everyone years ago to make modern day dumbed down slaves. The simple fact is this was an indroctrination and drivers grabbed it hook line and sinker...

It should never be about MILES MILES MILES.That in itself is very unsafe and unhealthy..It should be all about the % of the loads and what they are paying...

    WORK SMARTER NOT HARDER...

Tomorrows load..DH 40 miles and Pick up load to York Pa...The loaded miles are 250....1,300 Gross..

DH From York Pa to Carlysle Pa to pick up my NY load is 2,050....miles are 280.....

Back home tuesday morning and will take off till thursday.Thursday i will book another ''short haul'' round and Then be home on the weekend...I do not run hard or run many miles at all...I think last week i ran 1500 miles and still made 5,000

Wow Hurst you left Aspergis transportaion (however you spell it) crying about how they ran hot all the time, and you with another guy who has you running hot. When are you going to learn?

I do love your type though. You know the . I don't need to do the speed limit in this small town because it isn't for me.
I don't have to put my trash in the trash can. I'll just throw it out the window. Because it isn't for me.
I'll pull straight into this parking space having 7 feet of overhand that blocks the driver who was here before me type.
I'll talk about how hot I run while having the picture of my truck and truck number for all to see. Boy DOT s love you guys :)
