Right now, I have the option to go with either. Both will have the same start dates for me and all of that. Swift sending me to Lewiston, ID and Central to Salt Lake City, UT. Just looking for some opinions, suggestions and any advice on who to go with. I know it comes ultimately down to what I think and what works for me, but I like input from people who have experienced either company themselves. Also, was curious about Swift's acquisition of Central. If I started with Central wouldn't I end up driving for Swift eventually anyways? For that reason, would it be best just to go with Swift? Anyways, thank you everyone for whatever input you have.

All things equal, which they pretty much are between Swift and Centrals pay and benefits, IMHO, it comes down to do you want to haul a dry van or a reefer? Keep in mind that reefer loads tend to deliver in the middle of the night and can take some getting used to.

Personally, I started out at Central and they treated me ok. I just decided to move on from a starter company.

    Good luck.

Perhaps you could give Swift a call and see what they want you to do. Swift now owns Central Refrigerated.

    Good luck to you.

I appreciate your input, but why would I care how the city/town is that I take my training in? I'm not living there and I'm not going on vacation.

I would go with Central. They've done me right. Sure, I could list some gripes. But, when I compare those to the gripes I could have had with other training companies...let's just say I'm satisfied for now. Also, not sure if Central will change much, too quickly. Ownership really hasn't changed hands.

Yeah I have head more good than bad about Central. And like you said, you could list some gripes. But there is going to be gripes anywhere. Thanks for the input Clyde!

It's all the same now. Swift bought central this last week. Names are going to be changed on the door here soon according to a few friends I have working with swift

Yeah. In the end, no matter which company I choose, I end up driving for Swift. I'm just curious if it is less of a headache to just start out with Swift, or roll with Central and see what happens.
