Congrats on your credit score. I sold cars for 7 yrs before I got into trucking, the highest credit score I seen was a 820. Im trying to get my score in the 8's. Right know its 760, when I bought my truck 3yrs ago it was in the 6's. Could have paid my truck off , but I wanted to build business credit. Having good credit helps out. I have a chase card with 5% cash back, I charge all my maintenance, pm's , repairs on my card. Then at the end of the month I just pay the balance. Some will say cash is king, that might be true. But, sometimes credit will help out also.

Thanks! I got good credit with flipping houses, and I do the same thing, I charge everything on my Credit Card, where I get cash back and, and pay balances every month. I heard the highest credit score is 1050, I'm working on it :biggrin_255:

If you're buying the truck outright what does your credit score have to do with anything? The highest credit score possible through "FICO" is 850. I have heard that other organizations go as high as 990 though.

    rickybobby Thanks this.

Did you buy the truck outright from Schneider or a outside source? Most trucks as you describe at Schneider still cost over $100K, Mine was 2 years old with 284K miles and I paid $79k with a tri pac APU.

At first when I thought about going thru the Lease Purchase Plan, it seemed like Schneider was taking in consideration about credit scores. But then I was offered by Schneider the same truck at a bargain price if I bought it outright. So I went that way, so I don't have to worry about the monthly payments. As a newbie being an Owner Operator, just trying to make it the easiest possible.

I've got a small air leak on my tractor, was curious if air leaks are covered with warranty? Or do I just get it fixed at a TA or Petro??? Sometimes after a 10 hr break, I notice my trailer breaks are already set, but I'm guessing its because of the air leak. :biggrin_25524:

Not sure if it is covered or not! but if it is a tank or major airline it should be! If it got damaged some how it also might be covered under your insurance. If it was me I would it take to petro or TA they are Freightliner associated and should be able to tell you the problem and if it is warranty item or not. If you can't get anywhere with that I would call your SFI rep. Depends I think on what exactly is the problem.
