there is a dealer over in fort worth I think and they have used ones on ebay all the time. They are good but they are real spendy too and if you don't live in your truck it's hard to make up that $7k

although AC power sure is attractive too.
If I still lived in WI I'd just put my inverter back in and run a space heater. there isn't many nights you can't sleep up there without ac. but southern running is a different story.
one thing that was nice about hauling the mobile medical scanners is that I always had ac power. Just run a cord out the door to the generator and there was an ac plug right on the front of the trailer. If I was doing that regularily I'd just put an RV roof unit on the bunk -

you know, like I said I tinker with everything. I had thought about experimenting with a cooling system based on a thermoelectric cooler actually. Basicly yu run power through a heat sink and it gets hot on one side and cold on the other. If you enlarge the system and blow a fan over the cool side you get cool air. then if you reverse the current you get warm air.
I know volkswagon has a cooling system that uses no moving parts. I can only imagine that it must be a system similar to this.
From what you say about the nite air system it sounds like it would work about that good. That being enough to maintain a a temperature.
hmm.. mabey I should have patented that before I put it on the web -
I always thought of making an air conditioner using Anhydrous Ammonia as a refrigerant. You could power it with a propane flame or the hot exhaust from a generator.
If nothing else, It would be a good excuse to buy Anhydrous Ammonia to supply one of my meth labs.

wern't all the cooling systems amonia once upon a time? -
I am moving trucks all over the country. I use a transporter license. and have DOT signs for the doors. Get anywhere from 1.25 per mile to 1.50 per mile to move them. I pay my own fuel, but I do OK.

When I was pulling mobile medical scanners I would often do transporter work on the way back instead of bobtailing. Lots of it was like $1 a mile. Not much but when I was already getting paid to bobtail it was a super good perk.
Transporter tags is something more than you'd want to do to move one truck a few states -
The heater is probably a good idea but you'll never get me to buy the Nite system or any other battery deal. Too much weight and they don't last long enough. Imagine when you are pulling your 34 hr restart in TX during a warm day/night. NOT going to last.
I want a ponypack and plan on getting one as soon as I can. 300 lbs and they do the AC, heating, charging etc etc.
