I'm going to go along with the consensus so far, and that you were the architect of your own misfortune. Maybe BLT has issues, but with chip on your shoulder it's a wonder you fit into the truck.

Logs, no excuse for not being done. They protect you when they're done properly, and as long as they're within the 13 hours of last entry, they're legal, so there is no excuse for not having logs up to date. As others have noted, E Logs are the way to go and within the next year will be mandatory in some form or other. Not sure entirely sure what form they'll take, but stay tuned.

DOT fines are generally the responsibility of the driver. That's the way it is. You didn't do a proper inspection, logs not up to date or whatever the infraction, you are the responsible party. Even if you have tried to get a defect repaired and the company refuses to do the job; simply driving to a scale and getting it written up will also entitle you to a fine as you intentionally drove a defective vehicle on public roads. Document checks are also part of the pretrip so you must make sure your insurance, ownership, cab cards and the other various documents are all nicely up to date and you have everything. Trailer info is normally with the trailer, so take the time to make sure it's there as well. Nothing worse than getting a Class 1 inspection and the paperwork is all messed up. Makes the officer look even closer at everything else.

Driving while fatigued. Under no circumstances do you drive this way. I can't think of any reasonable company expecting a team performance with a single driver because the other half was disqualified for a medical issue. They know they accept some of the responsibility when this happens, as well as the liabilities. DOT knows what companies do, and they are targeted. Several have been shut down by the government for safety and compliance issues. You are an adult, and believe it or not, you can say NO. Simple 2 letter combination but pretty precise in its meaning.

Yes, we have all made mistakes at some time or other. No one is perfect, I know I'm not. Suggestion though, as a private pilot as well, checklists are a wonderful way to ensure you haven't missed anything. Even big commercial jetliners use a checklist so to keep yourself from future issues, design one and you will likely add to it but eventually you will the basis for a list that should allow you to ensure all is right.

I'm not going to come down on you like some because you are new to the industry. You need to learn to stand up for what's right and, more importantly, what is safe.

another example who people with no business going to trucking school , that end up on the road. you can safely bet everything that happens in their lives has 10 excuses and is someone elses fault.

the husband no matter the circumstance should have the log book current the second he took the wheel. you folks are in fantasy land. if youre going to be a team ya gotta to get it together. or stay with your other "profession" whatever that is

and the missing piece did the pitbull ride the bus home too?? what happened to him?

Ahhhhhhahahahahahaha Thanks for adding to my vocabulary, nightwatch!

And don't forget about all the rubber we save! Even taking into account the size difference, we use tires that last 5 or 6 times as long as any automobile's...

    "douchemobilists".... LMFAO..... :biggrin_2559:

I just graduated trucking school. Day two or three they covered fines and who is responsible, checking paperwork, and if it not up to snuff refuse to drive till fixed because ultimately, if there is an accident you (the driver) will be visting the grey bar motel as a friend likes to call it.

I'm really considering just letting it go. There's more to the story that I'd like to say but I think most people on this thread understand that I'm not the "horror" company I was made out to be by the OP. I'm new to the forum, only joined because I learned of this thread. I guess I can direct message if you are just dying to hear the next chapter? I could write a book about the adventures of their 2 week voyage with our company, for real.
