This highlights one thing about the JCT fleece lease: It's THEIR truck, not yours. THEY call all the shots, make all the decisions about THEIR truck. I'm not saying all LP deals are this way, just this one. I'd stay away from this company for LP, most likely they are going to short load you at the end of the lease and lease it back to another "owner operator"...ahem, I mean lease purchase driver once you fail.
The recruiter told me if were to "walk away" at the end of the lease, my 2,000 dollars would not be returned, only 400.00 dollars of it. This means even if there is NO damage by my animal, they are still going to charge me 1,600 dollars. So...this means YET ANOTHER reg flag for JCT: If they are going to charge you close to 2 grand for something not resulting in damage, what else are they going to charge you for at the end?
If it sound too good to be true, it probably is.
Don't LP with JCT, bad deal. -

Your right, till you pay off the truck it ain't yours. That goes for every lease purchase and that's not what the advantage for the driver in doing a lease purchase. If you have enough funds and credit go out and get your own truck then lease on to someone or get your own authority. For the drivers that have a dream of owning their own truck but do not have the credit or resources to do so L/P gives them that chance. Unfortunately a lot of companies have structured those deals so that it is nearly impossible for the driver to ever actually own the truck. At JCT it at least seems possible to complete a lease and the buyout at the end being only a dollar makes that a lot more possible then the ones with the 18k balloon payment.
Trucking ain't Burger King, you can't have everything your way.Arkansas Frost, vikingswen, popcorn169 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Guess none of the negative posts read the OP's post asking them to take it elsewhere! ANY business has operating costs so, if you are not earning, you are in fact losing money. It doesn't matter if you're leasing a truck or running a food truck. If you're not making money driving, there's a good chance you need to look in the mirror rather than up the corporate ladder...
