We have been in a class of 8 students for 3 days now and we were sent to take a "permit" test today. Of the 8, I'm the only one who took ALL the endorsements. I passed them all the first time and it took about 35 minutes. When I left we had 4 of the 8 who had already failed and were waiting to take it again. Did I really do something very special or just have idiot lazy classmates?

Sounds to me like you are paying attention and studying. Not a thing wrong with that.
I wanted to add GREAT WORK!!!mje and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this. -
Outstanding. That's s something to be proud of.
Tonythetruckerdude and mje Thank this. -
That's excellent you got all your endorsements But just because your class didn't want to get them does not make them idiot lazy.
-
The industry attracts idiots. Some of us want to become truckers for the fun of it while others become truckers because they don't know how to do anything else that pays enough to support their family. They used to work as janitors and at Mcdonalds but the current economy doesn't allow normal people to survive anymore unless you have three jobs. BTW don't celebrate until you actually get hired by a good company.
Therookie Thanks this. -
1. People all learn differently. You can be book smart, learn by doing, learn by seeing, or any combination thereof.
2. The line about idiot lazy classmates, makes me think you may take great issue with the actions of others. If what others do around you bothers you, stresses you, than this may be a case where you'll need to develop more think skin, zen, inner peace, or maybe consider another field. Your going to be interacting with ALOT of people on a very regular basis.
3. Congrats on testing in one. Now all you have to do is figure out, what you want to haul; since you didn't limit any options on tests. -
It's always special when you can pass every test on the first try.
And, it's usually due to laziness when no one else can.Therookie Thanks this. -
Look at it this way, your classmates job opportunites are limited to the low annual pay jobs, unless they can snag a decent flatbed company & some of those require hazmat.
You can start your career making good money with a tanker or flatbed job or even a company that pulls doubles. You shouldn't be one in the truckstop TV lounge complaining about no miles or only making $30K last year.
Now, get TWIC & a passport.Therookie, Charlami and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this. -
