LadyTrucker99, how did you get your co-driver? Was this a friend or were you assigned to someone you didn't know? And how did that work? Seems like it would be uncomfortable for a while.
didntitellu, I keep saying 11cpm. Maybe it's a narcissistic Freudian slip thing. It is .22cpm for 1/2 all paid miles, as you said.

We met up at orientation! We got along just that when he saw his paychecks he lost the ambition to drive.
Let me see if i can explain it a little better this time. I was making .28 per mile for half our miles. He was making .22 per mile for half our miles aka split miles but CRST was taking .11 or half of what he was making to pay for his schooling and fees incurred to get his cdl's. For example=we ran 6000 for the week i would make about $840==his paycheck would be around $330 ($660 - .11 they was takin which would be $330 ) for his fees. So they was taking half from his paycheck everyweek for up to a yr (not real sure how long his contract was) So say we only avg 2500 miles each--his pay would be $275 if he was lucky. I literally saw him with paycheck of $40 or less some times. Of course they paid 2 times a week but it still comes out the same.
Hope you can understand what i am saying a little better now. Like i said this was 3 yrs ago so maybe they have changed things by now but back then it was real screwy.
Good luck to you! -
My co driver was making .11 per miles for 1/2 all paid miles--the rest was goin to crst for his school. Maybe this is how i shoulda said it!

I got it. Thanks for the info. That's sad and had to be tough for you to be in that "partnership" situation. As I mentioned before, CRST is one of the few Transports I've found that recruits/hires from my area. I haven't given up looking yet though. Good luck to you too.

Good luck to you as well--I hope you find something that you can work with!

students started out of school # .22 per mile split--my co driver went to their school in ohio i think it was--so they was takin half of what he made (.11) to pay for his schooling and motel room while in school. Thats where the .11 came in at. They was supposed to take that for up to a year i think==not real sure cuz i didnt go to their school.

I think the program may have changed some since either of you were with the company.

Werner was the first trucking company I've worked for, and
Werner was the first trucking company I've worked for, and they just screwed me good and tight and I got no person pleasure from it. They do take avantage of newbies, and in the long run, 2 accidents were put on my dat file that I was'nt respondsible for. I found out when I was in orientation with CRST ( whom suppose to have done an through background check on me prior to arriving in Iowa.) They fired me immediatly, and made me find my own way back to Michigan from Iowa. How do I fight this? I spent most of my money I had to get there in the first place with just a few bucks left in hand when this happen. They made me get out of the hotel room I was put up in and everything. Made me feel like an criminal. The recruiter took an entire week to check everything out on me, even made me give names and numbers from unemployment agency to verify what I was saying was true about unaccounted years of not working. ( was in school )Now I'm ruin when it comes to getting employment for a long time I fear. Jb hunt even turned me down. I got punked because I asked to leave the Walmart account I was driving on because they would'nt let me take my kid back to MI to return to school after the summer holiday. They messed with a like of folks I found out when you u tell them u have to leave their account. Werner have recieved complaints b4 with the management team on the walmart acct.
So I call Werner up while still in the office of CRST, and they say it just give a location and date, 2nd accident was at the Walmart DC where I worked out of at. Nothing else. The 1st accident I was in Ohio, just leaving an a fuel stop, and was texted onthe qualcom stating I was just involved in and accident and for me to go back. I'm like WHAT, no way, so I go back and this dude who did not see me hit his tractor say a unknown witness seen my trailer hit his truck. Okay, where is this witness? the officer and I checked out my trailer and there were NO marks whatsoever showing I hit this dude. and as slow as I drive, and quiet as it was that early in the summer morning, I would have known, seen or felt something, because his front end was jacked up! and the injuries looked very old, not something that just happen lest than an hour ago. So a report was done, I was NOT given a ticket. Werner says this guy was just trying to pin someone for his accident and that I'm not at fault after an investigation. The officer that wrote the report out didnt believe I was at fault here either. I find out while at CRST that Werner says they paid the other company for the accident!
