It's different when there's a ton of traffic. But I'm talking about just a few vehicles or even one faster vehicle. Plus the way some of these drivers just whiplash out there.
It's like you want to stick up for dangerous driving in every aspect. Anyone that thinks pulling out in front of a vehicle that's going 5-15 mph faster when they are basically on your back bumper is not dangerous, is a fool.
You can expect stupid and dangerous driving habits from four wheelers...that's part of the job. But those in the cab of the big trucks are suppose to be professionals. There's a lot that need to work on that.Cowmobile Thanks this. -
I agree, but I am also prepared to deal with it happening. I watch the flow of the traffic and see the truck getting close to the point of changing lanes and usually predict it. Never have stated that I thought it was safe. Neither is driving 15 to 20 mph faster than the traffic either.
I learned about these things in defensive driving course for emergency vehicles. We have to be prepared for almost anything due to the siren and lights and panic that it causes to some drivers.Dinomite Thanks this. -
cutting drivers off and not using turn signals is a different argument then driving slow.

If the speed limit is 75 and I'm running 70-72, I'm constantly getting passed by four wheelers and some trucks. But I'm flying by trucks that are running 55-62. That doesn't make me unsafe. Honestly, the trucks running 10-20 mph slower than the majority of traffic are the danger.
And I agree, it's a must to be able to predict what other drivers are going to do. It doesn't matter what speed you are going. You can be running 75 or 55...if you aren't paying attention and only living in your own little world, you are a danger. Tons of "professional" drivers I pass are texting, messing with something other than the truck, feet kicked up on the dash....etc....I don't care what speed you run but if you run your truck like that, especially in traffic, you are a danger to everyone else out on the road.Cowmobile, Rigbuilder and Lilbit Thank this. -
So, is that how it works? Anyone who doesn't agree with you or has a different opinion is a whiner? Typical...Lilbit and Raiderfanatic Thank this.
-
Gee, you really are a problem.
Did you not start the whine about this?
See post 3. -
Uh huh, typical... So, I guess the same could be said about your posts then..Lilbit Thanks this.

Whatever turns you on.

I do the same thing and the same thing happens to me. But I still don't think the 62 mph trucks are that much of a danger. If they are on the road it is everyone's responsibility to make sure they see them and maneuver around them in a safe manner. That is why I run the left lane quite a bit, especially if there are slower trucks in the right lane for a few miles. I don't really care about the four wheelers, they'll pass me on the right whether stay in the left lane or not.Rigbuilder and Raiderfanatic Thank this.
