Commercial Insurance that does not need to be Paid In Full...in Texas.

You don't need to pay your insurance for the entire year in advance. Most insurance companies will allow you to pay about 20% down and finance the balance over 9-10 months. I pay my insurance monthly with no down payment other than the first month in the renewal period. I prefer equal monthly payments so that I can more easily budget. I used to renew my insurance at the same time that I paid my IRP. At the time I was with a company that required the big down payment. It was a hard hit all at one time, especially with more than one truck. If your agent can't finance the coverage over 12 months or at least with a smaller down payment, I would continue looking around.

 

I second that, the only time I heard of people having to pay up front the entire amount is if they were new to the business, had very poor credit rating or crappy driving record ... oh and default of payments against them.

 

I've never heard of P.i.F...never. I second Ridgeline..Thats really impossible just starting out.

 

been insured with progressive a while, then this year they said that due to my credit rating I had to pay it in full, nothing new on my credit, I've just never had credit period . . they said its something new that they are doing.

 

Well if you're happy we are happy! I have to say their customer service is MUCH BETTER!!
i just found them to be a lot higher...

 

Progressive offered a policy/quote to me last week. 2 months up front and 10 monthly payments. i have great credit. i have been thru hard times in the past 2 years but i fought like hell to protect my credit. i did a lot of things i didnt want to do, but i protected that credit.

So your credit must be pretty bad i guess.....

 

or just no credit. .. some of us are well enough off that we don't need to borrow. ..
