Just be as honest as possible. I was honest about my lack of experience, but they liked that I already had a job that was outdoors in the elements. I also wore a nicer shirt (decent button down), but I don't know if that really mattered. I just figured it couldn't hurt.

If you were going to hire somebody, what five things would you look for?

    Background, experience.

    That's all I can remember.

Largely, you have and you are what they are looking for or you aren't.

I wouldn't smoke a joint during the interview.

Currently looking for a experienced Class A CDL driver. Small company running 8 trucks hauling production, flowback and frac water. I offer 25% pay on what the truck earns, drivers are making around $2000 wk. gross. Housing is limited up here so the drivers stay in the truck. Honest, hardworking, dependable are the people I am looking for. Must have current medical card and pass a drug/alcohol test. Send resume to bakkenlogistics@yahoo.com

I think the opportunities for fresh out of CDL school drivers in the ND oil patch are gone. I've been here for two weeks and couldn't even land an interview with MBI, MBI told me that they have more qualified applicants. I have a clean MVR and oilfield experience, and no criminal record so, I guess the "boom" is over. Maybe in Texas but I'm out of money to drive down there and live there for a few weeks trying to find someone willing to hire someone fresh out of school.

Just giving a warning to those that are about to spend money trying to move to ND and get a job here. The only ones willing to hire you will be the 1099 companies that will have you operating illegaly, is it worth your license? I know it isnt. I'll give this place one more week, and then I'm out to an OTR company.

I hear ya there, I'm gunna say the hell with it and buy my own truck and trailer. Deciding which route to go gravel or water. Thinking gravel to start out. I know how to drive trucks already, so figure what the hell. Buy my own #### truck so I can get my license, find a company that needs trucks and get to living.

Well, hubby didn't get the job at MBI :( Oh well, what do ya do! Has anyone heard of a Steve Dvorak that is hiring for hauling gravel and sand out that way? I know this is vague, but he had called and offered a job last week. I can't seem to find out any info as to what the companies name is and my wonderful hubby never asked! Ya I know. They got ############ and he never found out, but he said this Steve guy sounded like a real nice, straight up guy. Ring a bell with anyone?
