Yes caffiene is technically considered a drug. However there is a difference between pot, and caffine, just like there's a difference between crank, and weed. There is a written set of rules by which we as drivers need to abide by. In all intensive purposes back in high school when we did our "gung ho tobacco is wacko week" as we called it they told us THC was in cigarettes and chewing tobacco though it was in smaller ammounts than what you would find in pot. Weather it's true or not I cannot say. The issues we're relating to here is weather you should be able to smoke weed in a truck. NO law says you can't. Just like the law states you can't go out with an M16 and start blowing people away for no reason. I know that is a stretch however it's the same principal. It's against the law.

Just because you can do something and get away with it doesn't mean you should. I have a past. Not with drugs, but I ain't no saint by any means. Was I ever caught? Hell no. Did that make it right? Course not. That's the point that needs to be made and what needs to be realized. They say weed has no effect on people's driving ability? Then why will you get a DUI if you're caught while you're high? That is no better than driving drunk (however it is better than skipping your 30 minute break). Point is it's illegal to use pot and then drive a CMV. Or piss positive for Pot. Weather it's right wrong or indifferent and weather the government is policing our lives or not that's the way it is. You want it changed write congress. See what they do. If they legalize it congradulations, if they don't hey you lost a battle big deal get over it.

It must be nice watching a guy that died many years ago. And it's third reef.. Not third reefer buckaroo. And caffeine is not a regulated drug. Just like many foods, chocolate , coke cola and many everyday products that are considered a drug but not regulated . Just like the most of the non narcotic drugs that you take from the doctor. One shouldn't try to belittle unless they are good at it.. You most defiantly have a long way to go to begin making any attempt at it.

Heres why 3d reeferarri- because i grew up in trucking my entire life. i screwed off until 21 doing crap jobs and partying and hit the road. I have not had any thc since i was 20. i dont want any now but i should be free to do it if i want to.

I simply believe an individual should be free to do whatever they want in general as long as it does not affect anyones safety. And that the off duty partying on friday should not be held against a man on monday.

If you want to put your trade at risk for some drugs.. Go ahead.. We can always find another.. With that type of attitude you just might start looking for a back up job when you are caught with a positive drug test. There still are a few companies that don't drug test.. You might feel more at home working there.

I just applied for my own rights last week but i am still leasing my truck to abc good rate tank lines till im all set. being part of a fsmca approved drug testing thing is a requirement. the only way out is retirement or the lottery or death

and you could have left the swift comment on, instead of editing it. i found it humorous. this is entertainment on commercial breaks when i get tired of researching useful knowledge.

You make many great points, thanks for the debate.I will just agree to disagree.I myself DO NOT do drugs nor DRINK but i am all for people having Privacy and having Rights..And i think that many of the ''Laws'' aimed at drivers are just ridiculous and another way for the Government to ''strike it rich''...I call it Over Regulation Nation..Then we all sit back and wonder WHY people are on Welfare and have given up..No one is ''perfect''...

As it sits the Government is looking for ways to ''cash'' in on FAT PEOPLE IN TRUCKING...Watch this one unfold when they tell drivers what they can and can't eat.
