Either the Written Test or Driven Test?
I failed my combination test today. Passed the General knowledge and air brakes with flying colors.
Also, whats up with DMV being so backed up. The next available appointment for driving test is november! More than two months away!
How many times (if any) have you failed

I had to renew my cdl in Illinois and had to retake all the written test because I got a ticket
I passed the basic driving test, motorcycle and everything else then failed the combination test.
the tester asked if I wanted to retake it now and I told her that I would just study tonight and retake it tomorrow
came back the next day and passed with no problems
the only test that needed an appointment for in Illinois was the road test, written test you just go in and takemje Thanks this. -
Failing the test is very common no big deal just study all 3/4 tests they have share with another driver & test each other before you take the test>The DMV is backed up due to lack of funds if you complain about it they will raise your tax's to pay for the new hire your tax dollar that suppose to fund the system was stolen by professional thugs with collage degree.you know the ones that are very kind & generous with other people money. 10/10 hello come in
mje Thanks this. -
I went to the DMV for my permit after someone mistakenly told me I didn't need to study for air brakes. That was the first test I took and I hadn't read the chapter in four or five days. I failed it, but they allowed me to immediately retake it after telling me my wrong answers. I passed it the 2nd time. Combinations and general knowledge I passed on the first try.
I don't know what the rules are in your state. Colorado lets you retake a written test up to three times in the same visit.
The driving test, I passed the first time. I owe this to a classmate who warned me about a curb on the route that eats tandems if you don't REALLY control your off tracking. I rounded it out so hugely that I worried I might make contact on the opposite curb, but I missed it (probably by and inch). -
I passed all the written and the pretrip and air break check but failed the skills on the alley dock first time to many pull ups and im small and had to pull my but off the seat to.see out of.the mirrors that did not adjust so I think they thought I was looking out window. Next time I got it. Then later I backed a friend's truck 90degree and I could get out and look out the window holy crap.what a difference. He told me open the door if I need thats what he does.but that did.not work for me. But now I have my license but no job yet.

I've moved around a lot so I've taken the tests in multiple states but I've always passed all of them. The way I look at it, my career depends on me passing those tests and I know the stuff anyway because I use it all the time on the job.

I passed the classroom practice tests with ease, thought, it was gonna be a breeze!
Failed General Knowledge my first time around, went back the next day and passed. Don't sweat it too much! -
In NH you have to wait 10 days $20 to retake any part of the written test. Here for the most part its a walk in and retake it. As for the Pre trip, Skills or Driving part of the test, Fail any part of that and you have to wait 10 days and $20 before you can reschedule an other appointment. And that could be 6 to 10 weeks out. I did fail a couple times but I made it through and passed. I just hope I never have to go through that again.
