How many different systems would they have to have access to? The one I administer that my company uses isn't very widely used except for Postal contractors. It's taken me awhile to learn it, are the coop officers going to be able to know it all that well?

    I am not sure.

The article I was reading was that they would be standardized and more restrictive than what is available now. When the truck nears the scale it would communicate with the scale house and then the truck would be cleared. If it sent information that showed over hours, then out of service. If the truck did not send information then they would be stopping it.

Right now there are guys that can drive a mile or so at under 15 mph and avoid logging. I foresee them removing these options.

Look at the regs, I want to say there are requirements for wireless communication. If you elogs sent a wireless signal out all they would need it a decoder programs to access any type of elogs.

If they were to go to the electronic signal of the logs, they would be only accepting certain ones. In addition, you might see the end of personal conveyance and driving under 15 mph.

Don't mean to disagree Sublime, but i was pulled in is Ok. and also Tn. to check my paperwork and both places brought my logs up through the Qual-Com web sight and checked them day by day, when it cleared he submitted an ok report that went onto the Qual-com and direct to my company, before i got back to my truck i had received a message from dispatch congratulating me on passing dot check.
