Spent all day Saturday and Sunday working on truck and trailer routine maintenance and cleanup. Total spent 1350.00 Labor to shop hand (me lol) 0 dollars. Fuel first thing Monday morn. before daylight 1080.00. So 2430.00 just to leave home. The hope of making just enough money this week to do it again next week, really thinking ol buddy you have hit the big time ain't no feeling like petermobiling is priceless. Yes we have to have a certain amount of money to keep our families comfortable, loving what I do and taking pride in the fact that I do it with a "wore out" truck, providing a good living that's why I do it. I'm curious how many others still enjoy it even if its love hate.
What makes us do it?

If this is your best sales pitch gettin' me to become an O/O... you kinda failed.
Seriously tho, I'd love to be in the position now to be one. I may be misguided, but I'm a determined kind of misguided.wore out Thanks this. -
most weeks i have 1 day at home, that one day most of my time is spent between getting the truck ready for the next week and doing paperwork. i still enjoy it though even if some days i feel like rolling the truck off a cliff and walking away while it burns. then the next day your in love again. when you spend 7k dollars in a week and were down most the week so only billed out $2500 your not in a good mood but when you bill out 8k in a week and only spent $1500 in fuel they put a smile on your face.

Fear of starvation and dying from exposure ...

I do it for the love of it and knowing I can provide a service to some grateful but mostly ungrateful people in this nation that we receive no recognition for rather than signing up to fight a pointless war and sacrifice my life for the sake of war profiteering. That is no means anything bad towards our troops as I support them but its not their fault they get put in the places they do and treated the way they get treated. So what better way to offer your country a greatly needed service than trucking products across the nation and trying to keep up with keeping the old American dream alive.

All an owner / operator does is buy themselves a job.

Because its easier to buy a truck then to buy a straight jacket.

Some new paint on the sleeper, and a few more chicken lights would make me happier with my traveling accommodations a nice drop bumper that has the smooth front no bolt holes I think would round the truck out nice. Its hard to be unhappy in the least with 700 miles in just minutes under ten hours. Yea it feels good to be trucking again, been off for a while. Added another truck and a partner we should all be this fortunate.

It's a hobby not a job.
