Have 15 years driving trucks but 6 months otr. and recently me a really good friend of mine have teamed up. Both are credit pasts are in difficult situations due to a past divorce. Just would like to here some options for us since me and my partner both have a common goal. Any advice will be helpful.

Maybe you can buy one truck and team for awhile. You need to be able to pick your own loads. Look at Farm2Fleet website, then call and ask what they recommend for a truck for their operation.

You can also purchase a truck (not lease) through Greatwide and make some good money with that company also.

Um sorry I'm not gay and will I never be! But both of us have a common goal and once both have our own trucks we will seperate as a team. We work well together b/c we where in the military together so we are also use to working in tight areas.

6-months OTR? Have you already bought a truck? Sounds like you are planning on getting own authority.

El Paso? Be very, VERY careful if you are getting rates from a broker to put your business plan together. I have not seen any of your other posts but based on your home market one of the first questions I would expect to hear from someone looking at doing this is "How can people survive on these rates?"

So the question is are you asking where to go to find a truck and get it financed? If that is the questions you will want to look at places that require a down payment. We are working with one that is selling starter trucks, reasonable payments and you own in 18-months. But the challenge is only one of you will be on the title. And that person has control.

We have looked at leases in just about every way we can think of and most, while fair regarding the terms compared to risk, are just putting a new O/O into too much truck. A $100k truck has a payment based on the value.

Maybe a little more help in terms of what you are looking to do.

Also, if you are running out of El Paso and a team I would look to do expedite. Hook up with a company that has contracts in this market (you will never get them being independent) and you can make good money.
