Any chance someone with a brand shiny new cdl and no experience ( namely me ) could show up and get hired? I'm close to Ft Worth.
Thanks
Mary -
Yes. Spend some time reading these threads and you'll see that myself and others have done just that.

its up to you. all you have to do is apply. we need the help. you'll never know if you don't apply. all they can do is tell you no. -
Was curious to know if BTT was still hiring? Also, if I'm reading the posts right-- Lima, you are working 60+ hours a week right??? Thanks.

I'd say BTT is probably still hiring. The oilfield is blowing up in San Angelo area. It's just getting started good. The Colorado City area isn't even going good yet and it's busy. Plus further west is just crazy busy. The crude outfit I work for just lost a driver to BTT in Ccity. And he was already getting 22$ hour hauling crude.
skeeterbud and unloader Thank this. -
yes we are still hiring. all over. call the Bridgeport yard ask for Danny Hammer. -
Mary, have you checked with FFE in FTW? They do tanker and they even have their own school. I know you already have the CDL, but since they hire and train drivers you may be able to break in with them with the added benefit of not having to sign a contract to pay for schooling.
I hear keep reading mixed reviews on them, but WTH? You have to start somewhere.
They do both oilfield and OTR. If they would place you in the oilfield straight out of training, I think they would be worth looking into for a years' worth of experience.
At any rate, it won't hurt to call them, and they're right in your neighborhood. They have an 800 number on their website. -
Nope, hadnt checked with FFe. But
I'm supposed to go to swift on th24th.
so for now I'm good.
Thanks
Mary -
I checked with them and they want you to go OTR at first. Sounded like they wanted you to go OOTR for at least one, and probably two years before they would move you to tanker. It's definitely not for me.
