Well just a little update on the JCT job. I finished orientation yesterday and signed for my new truck. 2014 Evolution with 900 miles!!!!!!! Yippee!!!! It was just luck that I got the truck, 4 of us total in the class received one. The class was a little frustrating to say the least as we were the first class to do the all new computer based orientation. The computers could not handle the load so everything kept on freezing, but the IT department guys at JCT handled it and they were working a lot faster now. If you were good like most of us were you could be done with orientation in 2 days.
Day 1 was all the modules, driving test, backing, drug test, packets that they give you, physicals, and truck selection if you ARE FAR ENOUGH ALONG AND NOT ACTING LIKE AN IDIOT ( notice the way to get a good pick) LOL
Day 2 was more modules if you did not finish them, lease agreements, permits, introductions , and if the drug test came back fuel cards and medical cards back. You also might get dispatched So good luck, I know this was the short version but you can always ask questions.

As for me, I got dispatched for my 1st load today with JCT. rough start to the day with a bad ground in a trailer but an even worse ending to a day when CHICKEN plant made me wait til tomorrow night for my load....... BOOOOOOOO but good news is 218 miles dead head from Sapulpa OK to Pottsville AR. and 1290 miles from Pottsville to Pheonix AZ. Not too bad for a 1st run. I really like the company, hopefully have a better day tomorrow. Also I know I was deadheading and the truck is not broken in yet and I am still trying to teach myself to shift at 1200rpm instead of 14-1500 like my old Volvo. She is getting 9.1mpg at 65-66mph:biggrin_255:

Nice, hopefully I get that load. Where in Phoenix are you delivering and when. I'm flying in Tuesday hopefully there are more. For 8_9mpg I can forget that I'm a huge Pete fan. It's about profit lol.

Also there was 4-6 evolutions sitting there waiting to get prepped. They are bringing in a bunch of them. I heard a rumor from the truck guy that they were either bringing in the new KW or Pete's in the next few months.

Hey, Let us know! I'd like to look at that Evo! I'm in Phoenix about 4.5 miles from the J west of town and about 1.8 miles from the P Lot west of town, I hate to sound nosy but what are your payment looking like. I really like the new payment structure system, they seem more doable based on the miles. Thanks.

Americold off of 75th. Hopefully they can get me loaded early today LOL. Basically my tractor payment is as follows.
    My fixed cost are
    120.00 wk fixed
    25.00 performance bond
    11.53 qualcomm
    7.62 non truck insurance
    36.62 occupational injury
    111.18 physical damage insc.
    For a total of 311.95
    My variable expenses are
    .21 mile tractor payment
    .08 mile escrow for maintenance.
    FUEL
If you notice I do not have an apu payment as they are included in the new pricing on the 2014s. Just so everyone knows you can find this on JCTs website as a calculator. Sharpp has posted a link to it several times. The lease on a 2014 is based off running 2800 miles a week for 5 years and the tractor will be paid off. Anything over the 2800 miles will be going more towards the tractor so you can get it paid off sooner. 10% interest. Which I think is pretty darn good. The staff over there is amazing and can answer any questions you might have. The drivers are very friendly and come right up to ya and you can bombard them with questions like I did. LOL JUST ASK SHARPP IF I DONT ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS LMAO. Hope this helps.

OMG!!! To quote Rodney Dangerfield from, Back to School: "I feel like I just gave birth. . . to an accountant!"

Thanks SM for posting your payment info. I know a lot of readers here are interested. Good luck on your Phoenix run. Maybe I'll see you there!
