I was driving into Wyoming tonight, and the coop was open, they red lighted my prepass, and I pulled in, but did not get a lane signal and went to the right where they had a flashing sign that said non permit vehicles may exit port, I was hauling crab meat and assume they meant non permit loads, so I just went on through without going over a scale or going inside, I pulled out and didn't get any blue lights in my mirror, so I'm assuming I'm not getting a ticket, but for future reference how should I have handled this, I imagine just crawling through was the worst thing to do

If you are not required to buy a permit, then you can leave the scale.

You usually need to go inside and show you BOL's, registration, IFTA and CDL whenever you enter WY or CO.

80 west going into Cheyenne, it's usually open when I come through, and I normally get a green light, except once before, but that time I got a lane signal to go over the scale then the green light to go

If the sign was flashing, you're ok. They must have been busy inside to not want more company.

So I take it I actually handled this correctly then, and they were very busy inside, I crawled by the scale house expecting one of the officers to come running out and yell at me for taking the bypass, but they didn't even notice

You didn't have a cowboy hat on. Don't ask, just get one.

So? That was you?! The scale master took a pic of your DOT number and your face.. Printed it out while 7 of us were standing there..

Immediately got on the phone, called highway patrol and a helicopter for support.

I saw flashing blue lights every 3 miles across 80, they shut Sherman down looking for you!

I'd run the back roads driver.

Sheesh, get a life.. Next time park and go inside with your permit book.

I know your comment is a light hearted joke, but now I'm confused about the process for Wyoming scales, my understanding is I got lucky this time, but next time I get pulled in, I need to go over the scale, then pull around and bring inside all of my paperwork
