I would like to see what those guys are thinking about the transmission? Isn't the DT12 a little small? i'd love a ISx in Front of the Auto. But I guess they have issues as well.

I'm sorry to ask some really basic questions on your awesome blog. I, like you am in that couple years experience, .33-.35 cents a mile company driver zone. I started looking at your thread because of the long loads JCT gives you. The way you run, seems pretty perfect for me.
Do you have any beginning lease purchase threads I should read?
How high is the chance to fail completely? Say you lease a truck and two weeks later the engine blows?
What is the minimum commitment you can get out of it if you don't like it?
How long is the lease, after that, let's say you're making 900-1200 dollars a week, well, once you pay off your last payment, don't you start making huge paychecks? Or is the truck pretty old at that point, so the maintenance offsets the fact you own it. -

All questions are good ones.

This one Sharpp started and other drivers with JCT are active on gives a great break down of what day to day life is like.

lease purchase does have a high failure rate much like the rate of failure for all start up businesses. That can be due to a number of reasons. The two biggest reasons in my opinion at JCT in my opinion fall primarily on the driver. 1. Drivers having an unrealistic expectation of what it takes to be successful 2. The drivers financial situation is already so precarious that they can't survive financially a rough period of a few weeks. Such as living beyond their means. 3. Pride. Know your limits and capabilities. We have a wonderfull support staff at the office and driver mentors like myself that can be extremely useful in making the transition to JCT and getting your. Business off to a good start.

The lease is a true walk away lease. Meaning if you want or need to leave at any point you may do so as long as you return the truck to a terminal and understand you will be responsible to have the truck put to minimum DOT standards.

in today day with the newer trucks being able to have a truck that is worth keeping if you choose to after paying it off. And then you will realize an increase of revenue in excess of 2500.00.Last edited: Sep 7, 2013
