So first, before I get jumped on, let me explain what happend, I was on a 2 drop load going to Walmart dcs, get to the first one on time with hours to run, and hours on my 14, by the time they got me unloaded my 14 had ticked down, I had enough time to make it to a parking area, and recognized that I wasn't going to be on time to corrine, ut because I had to get a 10 hour break, get fuel and take a half hour break to make it to the second drop (easy enough to just go off duty while fueling) so I immediately messaged night dispatch and explained to him the situation, but...he never messaged me back and I had fallen asleep, so when I woke up I called my regular dispatcher, and knew I could make it with in the hour window Corrine gives you if your late, so I ran it and made it 45 minutes late.
my question is can this be held against me, night dispatch was advised of my situation, and it seems like they chose not to take action on it, or didnt see the qualcomm, although I was in an area where he could of easily gotten the load repowered, (cheyenne, wy) yes I could have called him too and let him know, but I had passed the hell out right after I sent the message, as I had a migraine.
Will this be held against me?

You documented it on qualcomm and elogs will cover your behind..if they blame you, then they're not worth working for...
Hammer166 Thanks this. -
It sounds like you did your part and you documented it so that's good. That being said I don't work for Prime but with my company we have a specific macro we must send when running late. A freeform message is not good enough. So if you have a policy like that you might have an issue
-
how do you go off duty while fueling. isn't that a no no?
-
Theres a lot of nonos that people put them selves off duty for, but unless the dot watches me fuel, how are they gonna know if I do it once in a while
-
they'll audit your company. see the fuel receipts. and that you were off duty.
i'm surprised the company hasn't said anything.
they dn't need to watch you to figure things out. -
Prime will match your fuel times against your logs.
WHEN the DOT comes in for a compliance audit they will request fuel records to match against logs. If they audit yours and see you're fueling and not logging it as on-duty....
-
Not your fault as this happens a lot and due to load planners lack of knowledge to put it nicely. If anything they will just give you a service failure which stays within the company. I think after so many they will report it to DAC but if its your first mishap, I wouldn't sweat it.

Let's see you were at the first drop for at least 2 hrs, and off duty/sleeper, right? So all you needed was 8 hrs in the sleeper to complete the split ... so instead of being 45 minutes late by taking a 10, you would have been an 1 hr 15 minutes early ....
Are you in trouble, probably not - well except for falsifying a log with a fueling violation. But, they know you're not one of their sharpest drivers and can't be trusted with anything but simple loads.Chucktaylor Thanks this. -
wow , that seems a little harsh.
