For the average job, that may be fine, but there are regulations that prevent people with certain felonies and other crimes in their background from ever driving a truck. Always remember that the rules that apply to Joe & Jane Public do NOT apply to truck drivers.
2 felonies and 1 DUI???

Truer words have never been spoken. CDL schools will tell you what ever you want to hear if it will get you in their classroom seat.
-
Which regulations/felonies are those? Did you read post #25?
I admit I am not up on my permissible felonies, LoL. But I see all kinds of driver jobs posted that talk about no felonies within the last "so-many" years. I've never seen a job listing differentiate between violent vs non-violent felonies (for example). What is the criteria?mje Thanks this. -
Go to FMSCA's website and look at "Disqualifications for CDL" . . . They have a list of things that disqualify you to ever hold a CDL, plus restrictions for certain time periods. It was actually probably covered in one of the early days of CDL school. At least it was at mine.mje Thanks this.

CRST is a good company, they will hire you.
-
They ere for forgery ,burglary and possesion of a controled substance. All 3 are feloney charges. Oh and also as far as cdl school goes the one that I went to wouldn't take me untill I had a pre hire letter.mje Thanks this.

Most murders are committed during a theft.mje Thanks this.

Oh gotcha, But that is a restriction on getting the license. The Administration is not advocating in any way that the Government not do criminal background checks (just the opposite!). They are pushing for private companies not being allowed to do criminal background checks.
So trucking companies too, COULD be restricted from doing background checks. If the driver has a valid CDL, then in theory no disqualifying felonies have been committed. Any other criminal history would be none of the employers business... Not saying I agree.mje Thanks this. -
I found this page listing the disqualifier/punishments:
http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/administration/fmcsr/fmcsrruletext.aspx?reg=383.51
Pretty lenient if you ask me...
Maybe I am not looking at the right page though. The only permanent disqualifier I am seeing is:
"Using the vehicle in the commission of a felony involving manufacturing, distributing, or dispensing a controlled substance"mje Thanks this. -
