Sounds like the pay is a joke....but if that's what you want to do. Good luck man!
-
They pay a lot more than that. That might be a probation pay. They have very good benefits also. With lots of time off

Day Cab in the Industry $18-22+, it don't matter what part of the country you are in, ANYTHING LESS they want a slave. I interviewed awhile back for a day cab reefer at another retailer and the guy was serious as hell when I asked what the pay rate was....His reply $11.65 an hr to run a 4 state area. I got up and said You Are ####### Crazy and walked out.

I guess you haven't ever tried to get a job in Florida. Starting day cab pay around here is $13.50-$15/hr.Last edited by a moderator: Sep 12, 2013

The position in in frisco tx... I didnt ask about if there was probation pay
-
Did you work for them?
-
I personally didn't, but they had a Craigslist posing here a couple of weeks ago advertising $14/hr. They clearly stated that you wouldn't be driving all of the time, and when you weren't driving, you'd be expected to help out in the store...no thank you.

I hope there is higher pay after a certain period

I wouldn't get your hopes up on a probation period. Might be but I wouldn't count on it. Around here it carries company to company for local daycab work. I've seen it as high at $20/hour to start out, clear down to $12.50 to start out. It all depends on the company. NTC (Nebraska transport company) bottom feeder as far as I'm concerned starts out at 13.50/hour. Drive 5 miles across town to Saia and you're up to 19.55/hour. Central transport BEFORE they moved out and shut that terminal down started at 16.50/hour might have been 17 can't remember for sure. Between the 2 though I would've taken a $4/hour cut in pay as opposed to dealing with the crap at that terminal. They're a bottom feeder to as far as I'm concerned. Junk equipment, building shoudlve been condemned but it is what it is.
When you're local you have to expect to do other jobs as well in addition to driving the truck. You can expect to have to load and unload its common for a P&D driver to load out other drivers foe their city routes and what not it happens and its part of the job. I have never worked for Lowes before. I'm sure you can expect to do some work out on the store floor as sales, and can expect to built out orders, etc in addition to driving the truck. Don't be surprised if you're asked to do some of those things. Even when my dad worked line haul and moved off the dock he had to load his own trailer occasionally to get out of there on time. It happens.
