The problem your most likely going to have is even if you can find a company that will hire you, you will most likely be stuck there. I'd start looking at some local outfits. If the class x is as bad as everyone above says, then you very well may be screwed in this insurance run industry.

Well I won't judge since I don't know the situation but I am curious about some things. I have asked this question in other threads. No one has ever answered it. Who told you that in your situation trucking might be the answer to your job problems? Career counselors in prison? Is it these trucking schools? They will tell you anything to get you in the door and collect your money and sorry about your luck if you don't find a job. It is amazing to me how many of these posts have to do with felons trying to get a job in trucking. I just don't understand what makes you think trucking is the solution.

But some companies would hire Satan himself if he would promise to drive for at least a year. Just keep trying you will find somebody. That is the sad fact of the matter.

GEEZ!!! You guys need to take a chill pill! Bunch of judgemental ########! There's someone who wants to work and y'all throw stones at him? There are people in this world of screw up and actually want to move on after they've served their time. He's not running around applying to keep his PO happy, he wants to work.

He asked for advice, Hammer. We gave him some. Welding is a good job. Its not all too safety sensitive, and may not violate any conditions of his release.

Here's the million dollar question. Would you put him in one of your trucks? If you have an open truck we might have a match here! But let me tell you from experience if you mess with a snake eventually he will bite you.

A Class X felony is serious stuff.

As much as I try to be encouraging to everyone and as non-judgmental as possible, I also have to be honest.

It is going to be next to impossible for you to find a job in this industry. Class X is reserved for the most malicious crimes, so I don't think any reputable company will go near you regardless of how old it is.

I respect your desire to turn your life around and I really wish you the best of luck in finding a career, but I seriously doubt that trucking is going to work for you.

Thats definitely true, everyone has committed some sort of sin, some worse than others. However if he's been released, he must have been rehabilitated in some way. I continue to wish him the best in finding a job. Even the best screw up ... look at Bill Clinton.

If I had an open truck I'd at least talk to him! Maybe I'd hire him, maybe I wouldn't; but I'd at least hear what he had to say, and find out his circumstances. He cared enough to get on here w/o the "Somebody owes me a job!" so prevalent now, and ask for help. You think it's easy to jump in this shark tank and have that be your first post? It may be he is a snake. It might just as well be that he isn't. If he'd come on with the "I got 4 dui's and can't get hired" that we often see around here I'd be stomping on him just as hard as the rest of you. Class X covers a lot of ground...

Class x felony huh? Have you tried a career other than trucking? Because that's not in the cards. At least most hope not.
